Very wise Chrystal - thank you.
Well I brought the pasta to the boil last night and then turned it off and let it cook itself and went back a little while later. Then mixed in with the meatballs and sauce - with a portion in the freezer. I bought those stretchy lids while I was away - they are okay - but I typically use 2 of the 5 sizes I bought so ideally would have more of each but at £5 not rushing out to buy more.
I'll take DS out for a meal Wednesday which will make a dent in my budget. Worth it though. Both kids are struggling at the moment and I don't know how best to help. Hope they sort themselves out but want to ensure they feel loved during the process. If the weather is kind hopefully me and DS can get out for a walk... Easier sometimes to go with someone.
Continued to manage with just an elec blanket this week - even when one room temp fell to 11 yesterday! It gradually warmed up in the sun and my wonderful presence to more like 15. Really hoping for a mild winter - bill wise... I have to submit a meter reading Wednesday for gas.
If my arm has recovered enough - I may go to a drop in flu jab clinic tomorrow.
I need to wash DS's bedding before he comes - not stripped his bed yet. The cat likes to lie on it and DS is quite allergic. The cat is currently curled at my feet on the edge of the elec blanket.

those books sound interesting. Did you finish that cookery one that Tilly used so much gastronomic economy or whatever it was called ?? Was it useful for you?
Maybe lock her out his room and open the windows as well for a day or two? As if i sleep in a room where a cat has been I find the hair is everywhere but easier to breathe if there is fresh air.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I went in DS's room and DD had dumped loads of crap in there. So the first step was getting her to remove it. I need to go back and check how far she got and then strip the bed.
I checked with HR and my AVCs are being taken so it's due to be an 'ouch' month/6 months if I sustain it. If all goes well including tax relief £375 should go into my AVCs this month. Plus I'll have my annual leave deduction. But a little of the future pain could be offset by the NI change when it comes in November if they haven't u turned again by then! I'm also awaiting the annual pay award which if the TUs accept it may come Dec at the earliest...
I may switch my FD acct just to get some free £. Although FD has a nice reg saver - B now tops it so could move those savings into there and not lose much. I may also set up an extra account with B and move a couple of direct debits so I can switch that too.
You're right re cat hair. If I'd known he was coming earlier I'd have got the cleaner to sort his room last week.

I really liked one of my paintings yesterday - pre taking the tape off - but removing the tape ruined it. I'm therefore going to have a go at creating a new painting tonight without any tapes and see how I go on. I will share a different one I did like though...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Love the 'pre tape removal' artwork... I'd buy that! XXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

It's a lot easier to forgive, doesn't mean you forget, but also means there's no burden of it weighing you down. I saw first hand how a lifetime of bitterness bred contempt, unhappiness and solitude.
Hope DD has reclaimed her abandoned deposits from DS's room.
Future you will be grateful for the AVCs, even if current you is unsure.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3
