Well done with the dental work, the confidence thing is excellent news and is really important.3

I think the last time I looked there were only two in currys that were actually suitable for use in sheds etc.3

Thanks @L9XSS and WD
We will try and manhandle the FF into the corner of the kitchen where the bins currently are. We'll then try and 'hide' the bins (possibly new ones) under the kitchen table. Going to see if there are any decent ones locally - if not will get online. I cashed out from £co the other day - finally got the £ today after chasing again.
I cancelled my original car renewal - at which point they offered me a £75 discount from the captain type insurer - I told them they should've offered me the best deal first off. I was out of the time range for cancelling the other which was the equivalent of about £50 discount with more cover plus I might get £co cashback to make up for some of it.
Don't know if I said but I chased my energy payment the £150 one as it hasn't come. I think it's because my claim was in the backdated group...
I had dropped my energy payment to Sh311 for gas to £50 for a month but have put it up to £120 based on their latest forecast. I'm about £490 in credit overall between the two (paying nearly £130 for elec). Will see how my next gas reading is mid week - and then that will give me an updated bill.
Rained most of today so handyman didn't come. Delayed spend rather than necessarily a saving.
I've had my covid jab - so far so good.
I'd like to go on a trip out at some point over the weekend - but only if the weather promises to be kind. I'm hoping to also make art and write... Will let you know how that goes.
DD wants me to take her to Al's for a food shop... Exciting life I lead!

well done on the jab - had mine last week and still feeling a bit sore but not serious. The Dr in the room insisted that I book a flu jab ASAP and says he predicts a bad winter for that - so will probably get that done when work offers a voucher (they did last year) but will do even if have to pay
a trip out or some writing seems to cover all the weather eventualities so enjoy whichever comes your way
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine4 -
Thanks Mark - I can get my flu jab through work this week - so will sort that.
I've just had free food and flowers from 0l10 - some dahlia type flowers in lemon and white, a loaf of bread, 6 organic eggs and 2 lots of mangetout and baby corn. I'm going to have a pork salad sandwich and will make a stir fry later. I have onions and mushrooms and peppers I could use. I could perhaps chop up some of the leftover pork to use in it as I'm bored of it at this point. Will then freeze some of the results. I also plan to cook a pasta and meatball dish using some YS meatballs I got for 30p the other week.
I might do what EH seems to - and slice the pork and freeze in portions.
I still have YS mackerel to use up with my YS lettuce from the other day and various other salad ingredients. Or I suppose I could even use that for part of the stir fry that I plan to eat today.
I got DD to buy me potatoes and milk for around £2.80 - I'm hoping that reduces the likelihood of me doing a shop - in which case I hope to redirect that to the cost of new bins or groceries in the next pay period.
Get paid next Friday. A day early as it would otherwise have fallen at the weekend. Waiting with baited breath to see if they took AVC £ or not and whether my A/L was deducted as planned. Will be a significantly lower net pay per month once they both start.
I nipped to BnQ and got a red robin plant. I'll plant it in a pot for now and put it along the back fence where the tree was cut down. I want that area to have a focal point and it will help it get more established. Then once the old tree stump has died off (from copper nails) - I can then plant it nearby.
I will try and make myself get outside properly in a while. I have a sore arm - but no other side effects from the jab so far.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I like red robin plants - so cheerful.
your olio food sounds nice. I think Wait-🌹have just started offering food locally to me which could be good. Currently it's tes-co and a local 1-stop.3 -
I need to start prepping more. I like ibobsthe idea of dump bags for the slow cooker and will investigate this further after holibobs.

Well I've spent the weekend listening to a couple of books with conflicting approaches to dealing with trauma. I made art at the same time which was an interesting mix. Happy with some of the art I created - some didn't quite go as planned... rather like life. Other pictures are still drying so the jury is still out! One book was about asking what happened to you to help understand why you are like you are - and another suggesting honouring others who don't deserve it and themes of forgiveness could leave you trapped with on-going body/health issues. Both were interesting in their own ways.
I think unforgiveness leaves you bitter and twisted - but one writer suggested that many were lying to themselves when they claimed to have forgiven and bore the evidence in their own bodies/minds... They were out of integrity with themselves. I think as a parent I am all too aware of how easy it is to struggle with parenting despite our best efforts - and therefore the notion that it would be okay not to forgive felt exttreme... At the same time there were some parallels with another book I read about integrity a while ago which also suggested that each time we lied - even to ourselves - we made ourselves ill.
One of the books also talked about the problems with disregulation - and also why we often lean into day dreaming and dissociative behaviour - and quite why from a neuroscience perspective that was a positive thing - as long as we didn't get trapped there. It also made the link between evocative cues and addictive behaviours or emotional triggers more explicit for me which was helpful. Lots to ponder.
I still need to cook - so best do that before the meatballs go off.
I also need to scrub all the paint off my hands and arms - I am a very messy painter which is unfortunate - particularly given that today I painted in the front room!!
DS is coming home for one night this week so he can go to the dentist. I will need to try and juggle my work diary and take some time off so I can see him before his train home. I'll need to wash his bedding tomorrow.
I have ordered some more artist tapes in different widths so I can continue playing with paint.... I also bought a book on more sustainable living habits... It and one of the books above were part of a 2 for 1 deal this weekend. I'll let you know how I get on with that too when I get around to reading it.
Hope you all had a good weekend.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

On the subject of forgiveness and my children I came to the conclusion, long ago, that I love them despite their faults not because they don't have any, and that I love them but don't always like them or what they do. I think maybe we need to learn to apply that to ourselves too. We can, and do, make mistakes but we have to realise that despite that we still deserve to be loved, especially by ourselves, because if we could be as kind to ourselves as we are to other people a lot of the self destructive habits we have could maybe be curtailed.... although I admit that knowing it and doing it are two different things!
Lovely that you're doing your art, it seems to be such a positive outlet for you (even if you really shouldn't be doing it in the front room!)(((hugs))) XX
I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy4
