Hello savingholmes,
I've finally had a chance to read other diaries. I've only managed the last 10 pages to get me up to date.
The photos you've posted were all beautiful and I'm another fan of your art. I really like how your art pieces have turned out.
Have you had a book published? You're saying you're writing again so I'm just curious if there is a book I can add to my christmas Wishlist.

Thanks Merlin, WD, GAP and Daisy
I'll PM you about the book Daisy. Thanks for the compliments.
I've waited with bated breath for my payslip - as I'd done a worst case scenario on what I'd take home with my AVC at £375 and my A/L purchase. Buying the A/L and possibly the AVCs seems to have brought me into a lower pension payment bracket - as well as my tax and ni savings. So I am better off than my estimates by about £155 but whether or not that will still be the case in future months I don't know as I suspect the pension saving might be a cumulative backdated figure. Either way it feels like my coat is paid for!!
I have been spending on the CC for points - but sent it £200 yesterday.
I seem to have ended the pay month £200 worse off than last month even allowing for the CC - so pretty pleased with that as I've had a week away, the dental cost and new clothes. Will do a proper review later.
Need to help DD with a letter for GP. Have a shower. See friends for a meal - prepare desert!! (Fruit and meringues and squirty cream). See you later. Have a good evening all.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Jwil, Beanie and MF
I've done my money shuffle.
This month's £ challenges include:- Possibly giving sis some £ back (still no news on her mortgage)
- Clearing chunks off 0% spend points CC
- MOT on Monday - hoping it goes through no problem but no way of knowing. I need to get my car washed and clean out the inside to make it more respectable! May replace at least wipers. I've allowed £300 - hoping it's less than £100
- Paying handy man £100-200 to continue with the garden
- I may do a bank account switch to bring in extra £
- At least one child's birthday - but dropped budget to £10
- Cat needs vaccines - budgeted £30
- Planning to send £250 to regular savers. I may review this - and make it only £75 - as B savings acct now offering a higher rate - I'd be better putting the £ in there
- I would need to empty some of my instant savings if I send £ to sis
The first £375 to AVCs has gone out which is intended as a mortgage neutral pot to maximise the tax savings. I want to take it all as a tax free lump sum later.
