Still on a 4.5 tog here, haven't had my 'big coat' on either! I am a hardy northerner though 🤣3

I hope everyone is checking how much those throws etc use & remember that heating is not firing all the time unlike those throws & heaters.

Really appreciate your comments. I finished work early today - but having made up most of the time owed. I had a nap as I was shattered. Ex picked up DD so I have a night of peace. I've been watching house programmes on utube and feeling very grateful for mine... I sometimes wish I could have one built somewhere beautiful just for me - and it lets me dream about that. Whether I'd ever do it or not feels unlikely.
I've had my main duvet and summer weight duvet on the bed all summer. Depending on hot flashes which I use or whether I need both. I've had the elec blanket on this evening. I think I'm always a bit more nesh when it moves from summer to autumn - but get hardier once winter sets in.
@badmemory It literally costs a few pence an hour to run my elec throw - and I've already seen savings of hundreds of pounds when I switched to it last winter so I know it works in practice.
Sis's offer on her new place got accepted so she will need the money from me. After the 4/10 date. I will send it her then so I know its done and then build up my finances from there. So grateful that I've had extra £ come in this year or I wouldn't be able to 'help'. I will take £400 out of savings, keep around £400 balance on a CC for 2-3 months (on a 0% on spends card), use up my current account float and some in month £. I've reduced regular savers input for the next few months from £700 to £250. By tightening my wider spends I'm hoping to maintain over £3K EF.
Need to pay car insurance renewal in the next few weeks and the following month my MOT is due. Soon after that it will be Xmas - but DS has had most of his gift already so will be a token spend on him. He's managed to get a couple of weeks paid work in his desired field - will see if that translates into a long term job or not. He's settling into his new accommodation. DD got a payrise recently - £500 better than she expected so a nice surprise.
I want to make myself go somewhere tomorrow. Not leaving the house enough or active enough at the moment. I've also eaten far too much today... Let's hope tomorrow is better!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Merlin and lucielle.
I sold something for £4 on FB and then visited a disappointing NT property. I enjoyed the journey though as I listened to a book. I spent £6 there - but using a gift card on cake and coffee. I still have £9 left on it.
I've also reached out to a friend but they didn't reply. DD is staying an extra night at Ex's so I have the place to myself.
I called in Mr A for a prescription and came out having spent £19.29 but having got lots of bargains.
YS
2 x 10p salad leaves instead of £1 each
3 x 10p mushroom, carrot, onion and cabbage stir fries originally £1 each
1 x 10p carrot batons instead of 40p
1 x 10p pineapple - originally £1
30p meatballs instead of £3.10 (now in freezer)
10p pomegranate seeds instead of £1
£1.28 Choux buns instead of £1.80
20p each 4 x Mackerel instead of £3.07 each (now all in freezer)
30p Sea bass instead of £3.75
Some of it was dated tomorrow or even Monday - they're obviously running scared due to being shut most of Monday.
Normal prices
2 x Alice bowls £3 each reduced from £4.50 (I only had 2 of this pasta bowl size before - so this just makes it up to 4 for me)
£1.45 Peppers
£3.75 Chips
£1 Citrus
2 for £4 Edam and Mozzarella
2 bags for life at 20p each as forgot to take bags in (Doh!)
I'd not tried sea bass before but cooked it and the stir fry separately and then added together with a little sweet chilli sauce and water. It already has soy, ginger and chilli on the fish. Quick and tasty meal. Threw some pomegranate seeds in too for more sweetness. So very posh and new to me meal for about 50p!!
I'm going to cook the other 2 packs of stir fry as part of a chicken casserole. I'm currently brining the chicken (last week's half price YS pack from the freezer) and will then add it. If there's room I'll put some sliced potatoes on the top. Mr A stock cubes in too... That should then provide at least 4 future meals.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
