My cat is currently demanding attention and food - but he's had a lot already.... I think he's missing the attention from DD. He's always more needy when just one of us is home.WelshmansDaughter said:Rollers and paint tools are something I have a lot of as well. Weird
Took some curtains back to the shop so £22.50 back in the kitty although I did spend around £5.50 on goal stoppers... Swings and roundabouts. I also succumbed to the lotto this week - so wish me luck... I found £10 on the path the other day which was very nice.
Very grateful for my new FF in the garage for DD to use (mostly). She only really likes frozen veg in hers where I want meat and HM meals ready to microwave. Hopefully this time we can keep it from getting over-filled and therefore damaged. It seems to come with 10 years of free parts guaranteed - I just have to ring up and register. Just hope they don't come back and say the old FF was younger than I thought. I've no idea how long we'd had it...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi GAP - it was funny as I'd told my cleaner about all the excess screen wash and then she found yet another one. TBF we had two cars before so we went through it quicker but even so... I've found another deicer in the hall too. I also have 2 full bottles of sugar soap which is ironic as I rarely use it.... and so on. I might put one on 0li0.
I've had an enquiry about one of my listings. I put it up for £15 and have been offered £10. Here's hoping that comes off. Better than it sat doing nothing in my garage. It was a mini bike toolkit that I have no idea how to use. All the remaining bikes are DD's now anyway. She has a manual and an electric.
Since my meltdown on Tuesday I seem to have sorted myself out. Could be the patches have helped and doing something different for half a day with my cleaner. DD will be amazed when she comes home. I may buy a bin for her to use in the garage as she has a tendency to use the floor for all her wrapping and cardboard discards. TBF DS was similar!
I don't know how the new energy proposals will affect me - as for gas it will help but for elec I fixed at 20% higher than before. Waiting with bated breath like the rest of the nation to find out. It reduces some of my anxiety though knowing more help is coming.

Just checked - and my exit fee with BG fix - is only £75 - so if I'd save more by breaking the fix it's easy enough to do. They may just offer a different solution anyway so will wait and see what the announcement says when it it comesAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks GAP
The handyman has come today so on a roll. He's currently cutting down a hated tree (swamp willow). I have asked him if he can help me get to more of my plums too.
He's taking various scrap, wood and other bits from the garden. I will need to go and get more £ out if he's here all day but getting a lot for the £. I've offered him some of the liquids from my shed...
Really pleased.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Dancing, MF and TallGirl.
He got rid of the hated tree and used copper nails I had bought for the stump. He also removed a stump from another old tree. He cut out tree roots from under my pond - that's what he felt had made the liner go in the first place. He's pulled up a load of weeds that I've tried to take out in the past but it took forever but he got through really quickly. He used some of my tools - as some of mine are better than his. He left with a crate of stuff I don't need from the shed so we were both happy £100 for the day - but that included taking a load of wood and other crap away that I didn't want but that he could use. Someone else had quoted me £350 just to take the tree out.
His mum has recently had her pond done and has quite a lot of liner left - so may be able to buy some from her cheaper than I could buy it myself. He told me last time he came how much she'd paid for hers so I have an idea. He's said one 12m by 1m roll of landscape fabric I have is worth using but the rest he says is useless for where I need it. I will therefore try and offload the other stuff on FB and see if anyone bites. I do need to look for some more.
I have 5 bags of bark but will need more - but not sure currently how many. Obviously it's really poor timing to pay for this with the potential impending £ to sis.... but it's so hard to get workers and he is so cheap that I want to get as much done as I can now. He's already in less than 2 days worth of work transformed huge sections of my garden.
He's going to find me a cheap tree surgeon for an excessively tall tree... I want it out over winter after the leaves are off as it's taller than my house and it scares me (in case it ever falls and hits the house or a person).
Just what he's done so far has opened up the garden and made it look much more cared for. I just want to get to the point where I can enjoy it and it's manageable rather than looking at it and seeing a constant list of jobs I am behind on.
I've also had £11 in FB sales today to help pay for it. One piece of furniture and some sunglasses. It all helps.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
