I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!
  • Ok ... wind the clock on ... you’re retiring, and (subject to changes in the law)  you’ll have the opportunity to take a tax free lump sum from your pension.  And so you may well have just such a large lump sum ... now - still just for fun of course - what do you think you might do ...?
  • £10k .....£8k off the mortgage.  Rest into kids fund
£20k...... £10k into mortgage plus £10k into pensions
£50k..... yes please. £25k into mortgage £25k into major renovation on house.  Extra bathroom built on
£500k.... just imagine. Mortgage would be gone.  100k invested for the kids.  £200k invested for the pension . £100k on a buy to let and £50k to just enjoy between now and retirement.  Decent holiday every year but nothing flash.  Just comfort and safety

    £20k - decorate the hallway

    Blimey mate, that's some hallway!

Pffft….I reckon our hallway could easily need that to smarten it up.
    If we got a £19k chandelier 🤪

£10k/£20k - some party fun with family & friends.   Bigger sum=bigger party 🎉 The CovCurryClub would get a meal paid for too 💪🍻
£50k….maybe the party could be somewhere more exotic….maybe some ski fun ⛷
£100k…the above, plus I might upgrade the Figaro to an Aerial Atom….or maybe just book some track days…pop some into the kids LISAs too…
£500k….share more with family/friends.  Woelcke campervan.  Holiday down under: visit friends and family there 🗺   Maybe pay our volleyball club costs for the year….

Ah, it’s good to dream 🤣👍
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

VB club fees! There's a blast from the past. The amount of weird and whacky fund-raisers we set up back in the day.....
It'll be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end....
