What would you do with £10k, £20k, £50k, £100k, £500k?

    I would probably invest it all as I have enough emergency money.  GIA then so be it, just sell them in lots to come under the CGT threshold each year.

    £10k - Gift some to family back in Africa, Put towards holiday funds, invest the rest
    £20k - Same as above but more generous amount for each.
    £50k - Same as above but more generous amount for each.
    £100k - All the above plus add to my deposit and to buy a property in London.
    £500k - Resign from current job and take a 6 month plus break. Buy a property then then look into starting my own company & business. Plus all the above. Make the money work for me.
  • £10k-£50k - I do like treating myself so at least a quarter of any of those sums would involve pampering me silly and the rest I'd invest for future pampering 😊
    £100k - would allow me to move out of my current situation now rather than waiting for the new tax year.
    £500k - I'd pack my bags and my bunnies up and I'd head somewhere a bit warmer, buy a small place by a beach and have daily pampering 😊

  • £10k - pay for some home improvements 
    £20k - £10k as above & £10k invest 
    £50k - home improvements & invest. 
    £100k - most likely sell up & buy a new house either mortgage free or small mortgage 
    £500k - new house (still modest) bit of travelling & invest the rest 
  • £10k - I'd put it away for 5 years ready for when I'm ready to move from my flat into a house
    £20k - I'd go on a holiday, then I'd put the rest away f

    £500k - I'd move from my flat into a £400k house (south coast prices)! and I would have change to have a safety net, a holiday, and invest some long term

    £10k/£20k - I have to borrow less for my extension
    £50k - I don't have to borrow for my extension, and can fit it out properly
    £100k - same as £50k, probably just save/invest the rest
    £500k - probably cancel the extension and move house!

    Hmm, I seem to be a bit house obsessed...!
  • £10k: Get the flooring replaced and buy a new cooker and TV

    £20k: The above, plus a new bathroom


    £50k: The above, plus a new kitchen, get the place redecorated and get bespoke bookshelves put in

    £100k: The above, plus r

    £500k: The TV, the driving lessons, the car, and a new pad.

  • £10k I'd pay down most of my debts. 
    £20k as above plus extend the garden to get the car off the road. 
    £50k all above plus pay off the mortgage. 
    £100k as above plus help a friend pay down their debt add a new EV, fit PV panels and new heating system. 
    £500k as above plus invest most of whats left in a property over in the US for family and friends to holiday in. 

  • £10k I’d be able to afford maternity leave for a 2nd child 
    £20k as above and replace the tv, sofa, bed, redecorate then have a distant holiday 
    £50k as above and buy an electric car
    £100k as above and pay off a chunk of the mortgage
    £500k invest half and spend the other half on a new house (plus sale of my current house)

    10K from 13K redundancy, immediately re paid 5K Lendable loan+866 SC DMP balance.
    Leftover funds spread across HL/RBS Investments.
    600 pounds MOT Inc' Timing Belt.

    other mentioned sums, No Comment, as not experienced them.
