  • Oh yes, loved a good Tupperware party. I even had a go at selling it for a while. My dad still has a cupboard full of it that was my mum's, but he won't part with it...in case he ever needs it....lol.  He really won't need it. So hoping its all still there so I can have it one day.  It was brilliant stuff.
I agree @joedenise, the Lock n Lock ones are brilliant now, but quite expensive.

Hey, sorry I’ve been MIA. Things have cropped up unexpectedly. Clients have cancelled so I’ve got a bit less
money than I thought. Also I seem to have spent stupid amounts of money on food. So haven’t quite stuck to the £150, it’s because I’ve been busy and actually training, so I’m having to eat more but have less time to make meals. OH and Roo have been poorly so only wanting certain foods. And I’ve had to pay £100s at the dentist without actually getting anything done yet. Not at all happy about it.

It’s Roos birthday and May is poorly 🙄 and off school which has put paid to our dinner plans. So I’m thinking I’m going to make a Mexican feast.

I did make an amazing cake though.

I need to wrap his presents. Feeling a bit sad and rundown and a bit out of sorts because things haven’t gone to plan. The house is a tip from baking the cake so
i need to take care of that. I’m struggling to dry washing, everything smells damp. And I’m so worried about food bills etc. i think I just need a cuddle.

    Thanks love.
  • Sending you virtual cuddles and sorry to hear you feel this way. Sit down, take a deep breath and decide which thing you are going to sort out first. You can't do everything all at once and need to sort things one at a time if you are to feel any better.   Maybe Tidy up from your baking first, then think about the washing & open some windows if its drying indoors, to get rid of the damp smell, and then think more about food bills after. Work out what is essential and what you can cut down on. Maybe sign up to Olio and see if there are any freebies going in your area. x

This was what I was going to suggest.  If you try to do everything in one go it will be far too overwhelming.  One small step at a time will make each task look more manageable and before you know it you will see an improvement.  Take care

Thank you all for your kind words. I do need to just take a step back and breathe, I just feeling really stressed and het up and emotional. I’ve managed to get the house a little sorted and May was well enough to go to dinner. I think part of me feeling like this is I feel I’m competing with ex over things involving the children at the minute. I don’t want to but it just seems to happen, and bearing in mind he’s loaded, just bought a brand new electric car, loaded. I can’t keep up even though I’m not even deliberately trying it just feels like I am. it also doesn’t help he saw my parents this weekend as he invited them over for Roos birthday, he sees my parents more than I do! And he hates me so god knows what he says about me. He’s very passive aggressive.

the food bill is bothering me hugely, every time I go into Tesco the prices astound me. rich teas were 29p now they are 60p that is such a huuuuuge increase. Butter was £2 yesterday! I just can’t keep up. What are we supposed to do?

I need to get some more shopping this week. I could also do with paying bits into the bank as I have lots of coins. But I have a huge dentist bill coming up too. Just feel like it’s all running away with me and it’s out of control.

I know exactly the type of XH, I have one of those too.  Does he pay you any money toward the children or their clubs? My children can see that XH tries to buy their love rather than ever actually having been there for them, or taking any interest in their lives.  Your children may be a little young at the moment, but they will remember the time you spent doing fun things with them (not expensive things) rather than the latest toy or pair of trainers from those with more money than sense.  They will realise one day.  Christmas lights will be out soon - make hot chocs at home and have a wander around or trip in car to see them.  Does your local library hold free craft sessions for the children?  We love our library for free activities and resources - puzzles, dvd etc

I know we have said it before but Olio really is great.  Lots of fruit, veg and bread available.  If you have had a look before and didn't see anything it may because it is the wrong time of day.  Bits usually get put on after 8pm.  It really has saved us so much money.  Keep going back.  They also have non food items so costumes for the kids, toiletries, furniture, unwanted but brand new items.  It is not a charity, it is more eco and saving it from going to landfill.

I cant help with price rises as they are crazy, but we are all in it together so keep posting and we will support each other

Thank you @slm6002 I really appreciate your understanding.  I will get sorted and of course you’re right. I know they appreciate everything I do, and they understand I have to work etc. i do love Christmas and all of the lights etc.

I keep putting off Christmas shopping as I can’t bring myself to do it. I know doing it sooner rather than later will save me money in the long run as I can shop around and get things cheaper. I do this sometimes and self sabotage.
I need to actually spend some time. I do have time tomorrow to get sorted. I just need to make myself. To have no distractions and just get my budget and Onlube Xmas shopping done….. I might go to a cafe, I have a free coffee voucher so I could sit there and do it with no distractions. I keep getting lost in social media as well, and I’m never one of those people, my head is just not in the right place at the moment.
