  • I am fighting VCS at Liverpool Innovation Park too. Call me cynical but I suspect that they installed new signage (my son thinks they definitely have and in October, he took photos which show evidence of recent works, fresh tarmac etc) sometime after June last year (2021)
There seems to be a flood of cases about VCS and this parking area at LIP, where the alleged dates of contravention were before or just after beginning of August. They've probably sent their stupid demands to people who unknowingly parked in Permit Holder spaces because there was inadequate signage before the new signs were erected.
So I think they might be deliberately targeting people who they think cannot prove there was inadequate signage when they parked there.
Also, entrapment as particularly in the case of The Range (round the corner from the gym)  who advertise 'Free Parking' on their  website - no mention of "up to two/three hours" etc and no mention of a designated numbered car park - or of a designated colour or anything else.
And whilst I wouldn't dream of accusing any retail store or any kind of business in fact, of being in cahoots with low-life parking cowboys, if you put The Range's postcode in your satnav, it will (it did on mine and my son's and on others) give you directions to the store via the Digital Way entrance - sending you straight into a trap - leading you past the more obvious but very small Permit Car park on the left to the larger one ahead, to park in what you may have thought was a free car park area - until they erected the new signage.
So they are now targeting people who parked there unawares, before the new signs appeared.
And only people savvy enough to know about the Keeper thing will be able to dodge them.
    Despicable.
  • I let LJLA know in a nice way they may be involved in allowing criminal activity on their complex by failing to stop VCS claiming private land. LJLA told me yesterday they are now examining the legal issues I raised with them on January 27th. I reminded them again yesterday. So, you can gently hint to big companies that they may be breaking the law.
  • The Range want drivers to email them with details of any PCNs handed out at Liverpool Innovation Park. Email, strangely enough, recruitment@therange.co.uk. They took my complaint really seriously today, so spread the word to anyone effected.

    Really useful to know!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Can you peel the layers off the doctored image? If so you can use that as proof that the PPC are trying to obtain money by deception, and send complaints to the Trading Standards, IPC, DVLA, and then the ICO, as well as your MP and Michael Gove and Neil O'Brien at the department for levelling up.
I cant peel the layers off as its a flat image but there are certain things to point out. The perspective of the sign is weird and the shadows are iffy. (Plus its not really there ha!).

Will be complaining about it as i have my image to compare
When you say a flat image, do you mean a hard copy? I was referring to layers applied to an electronic image. These should be available on the PPC's website under the PCN number for you to view. Sometimes things added to an electronic image can be peeled off again to see what's underneath, although I'm sure you know it depends on how the doctoring was carried out.
You can edit an image in PhotoShop *and some other editors) to have multiple layers in one image, so you could have:

    Layer 1 - Original image
    Layer 2 - Labels/captions
    Layer 3 - Highlighting, etc

You can save this multiple layer image as a single layer image (as not all image software or formats can understand this concept), and this process is known as "flattening the image".
  • The Range have emailed me to say they have begun to investigate the issuance of tickets. If you have had one at LIP please, please email recruitment@therange.co.uk and/or the CEO asimpkin@therange.co.uk. It will be worth it.
Hi @DisruptiveLad - I have emailed those addresses and just waiting on a response, thanks so much for this info

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I wasn't aware of that. I just know that it is sometimes possible to peel the layers off again with certain software to reveal what's underneath.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

  • Yeah I definitely think this is a photo now and not photoshop but its from an unreachable area of the site I think (Service entrance?). Its totally irrelevant and I just don't know why they've put it in there if it has nothing to do with the JD Gym entrance
  • Hi all - just a quick question - I received a final demand letter more than 8 months ago and heard nothing since. Can I still expect a court summons?
