I was thinking of this but I thought you could only have one type of reward account? I would rather do this.Aidanmc said:sheffieldeagle said:HiI'm an existing customer with one Halifax reward account. I was thinking of opening a new ultimate reward account and switching. Then plan to downgrade the account once I've got the bonus. I'm assuming this Is an option?CheersWhy not try an open a second Reward account first?Quite possible you will be able to. I did a few months ago.
ThanksI'm one of many on here that has 3 Reward accounts. Some even have 4, but I don't think that is possible anymore unless they are already open.1 -
You do realise that the £125 = 41 months cover of the £3.00.MalMonroe said:Rubbish news for me and no, I am not kidding.
I can't pay in £1500 per month and don't want to pay £3 a month for 'maintenance' either.
I'll have to stick with Nationwide a bit longer.
So even if you left it a year & switched out again. You would be £89 up. Switch sooner & it's even more.
Bit of a no brainer.Life in the slow lane1 -
So, anyone on here who has already had 3 Reward accounts and now successfully opened the Ultimate Reward as their 4th account?

I'm interested in this switcher offer (have suitable feeder accounts) but already have one "Reward Current Account" (used for £5/month) with Halifax and their T&Cs (page 26 of this document https://www.halifax.co.uk/assets/pdf/bankaccounts/pdf/bank-account-guide.pdf ) say that you can only have one "Reward Current Account" in sole name? Is that true?
Do I:• Try and open a second "Reward Current Account" and see what happens.• Open an "Ultimate Reward Current Account", bag the switch offer and then downgrade the account.• Downgrade the existing "Reward Current Account" to "Current Account" and subsequently apply for a new "Reward Current Account".Any recommendations?0 -
Yes I have done so.Alex9384 said:So, anyone on here who has already had 3 Reward accounts and now successfully opened the Ultimate Reward as their 4th account?
The Ultimate Reward was opened and appeared immediately in online banking after application.
It is my 6th Halifax account. 3 Rewards, 1 Current Account and 1 Easycash.
The switch should complete on the 15th. I have had the text message to confirm that.2 -

I switched over an old Santander account I hadn't been using, would this be okay? Funny how I was rejected for the exact same nationwide offer last week. Once I get the money I might switch back to Santander and get their offer as I haven't had a cashback offer from them0

Why were you rejected for Nationwide?n1guy said:I switched over an old Santander account I hadn't been using, would this be okay?
