NSD 1.
Woke really early so logged onto work at 7.15; ended up working till gone 6pm as was waiting for something!
Put washing out on the line and got it partly dry in the autumn sunshine.
Went for a walk by the river at lunch and sat on a bench looking at the water for a while, very peaceful. Did 10k steps.
Had a nice phone chat with DD2; she is a little more upbeat. Saw DD1, definitely made the right decision to hand in her notice although they asked her to stay till end of term - she probably won't!
Gratitudes - Nice half an hour spent with DD1; nice chat with DD2; going to bed early with hot water bottle and bake off

Hi guys
It was supposed to be cold and sunny today but nobody told Mother Nature and it’s been heavy showers all day. Luckily OH could drop me off at work.
A slightly spendy day because I needed birthday cards. I’ve got stamps though and I’ll drop my charity bag off on the way to the post office tomorrow so unless the post office which is also a Morrison’s has any reductions I won’t be spending anything. . So I’ll get a walk and give to charity tomorrow. But my online shop comes tomorrow and I need to transfer birthday money so it will be a spendy day but all out of the bank.
Today I was thankful for work not being too busy, for our area manager rolling up his sleeves and joining in. We’ve been abysmally short staffed for months now and him struggling to keep up with the baking might make him understand our problems a little bit and a peaceful evening with OH out.
I’m going to make some hot chocolate now. Night night.

Felt tired all day, must go to bed a bit earlier. Discovered that I'd left rear passenger window slightly open when reversing the car down the drive last night, so have a wet back seat 😥 Work went well, I even joined in playing dodgeball in class PE! Dental appointment was online in the end as dentist isolating, I stupidly pressed the wrong button, in my rush, on the appointment link, so unable to access the camera, so had to be a phonecall instead. Will have a face to face one when he's got the all clear. Dropped birthday cards & a present off on my way home, made sure car window fully closed before I got out! A bit of sewing, then started a new book, think it's going to be a good 'un. All set for bed, then noticed I'd received an email from my best friend from school, so wanted to reply straight away. Emailing her has been on my to-do list for months, so pleased I'd got it done.
Grateful for playing dodgeball, email from friend, crossing things off my to-do listUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Morning just have to state this fact - I am trying to work from home this morning as am going to dentist later. But tally ho - it would be easier to fax documents back and forth than trying to work of a server, my internet is so bad. I cant save a file from an email or open the ones iI have already saved. I keep just slapping the table. Fortunately neighbours cat came in for a cuddle earlier and I think it was telling me to breathe, or purr! V1rgin is supposed to show up later, fingers crossed they will gift me a new router or connection to house.
Grateful for a warm house.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

NSD 2 achieved. Two more things out of the house. Blue and green bins were put out for collection - can hear the bin lorry rumbling round now. Counting these as my two because I went out in an advert break, went to the bottom of the yard 3 times to collect stuff I cut down a few days ago (had to push myself in a corner to get within 2' of the fence and just dropped stuff around me to avoid going dizzy or having to back out before I'd finished. The third time it started to rain as I was coming back with armloads of folded up pumpkin stalks and leaves. Was thoroughly soaked by the time I got to the bin, so carried on down the path and put it out.
Dried myself as best I could, was only just warming up by the next advert break and for the final break I collected the very big bag of paper from my room, a few bits from the kitchen (including a green food bag for the green bin), went to the bin, took the bin outside, added the bag to the green bin and stopped by the door to squash a few cans before putting them in the brown bin.
Mum locked us in and five minutes later (still only just after 5 pm) I had a delivery. Scrabbled for the keys, unlocked the door and went out in my bare feet because I didn't want to leave the poor man in the rain any longer. Wasn't going to fetch the separate key to unlock the gate so did the over the fence and onto the trolley thing again. brought it in and took it to my room.
It was the medium planters (suspect the large ones will come today, probably whilst we are out getting mum's covid booster). I have paid for them but if mum sees them she will sigh heavily and tell me we don't need more planters (buckets, seeds, food etc five minutes before she starts eyeing them up and asking if I have 'plans' for them). She also tells me I've killed things, might as well put them in the bin, what I should and shouldn't grow (yes to potatoes, carrots and peas, no to any vegetables not widely available before 1970 - peppers, aubergines, courgettes, broccoli, squash or things she's never grown - cabbage, cauli, spinach etc etc etc).
Yesterday I decided to concentrate on food use ups. On Sunday I'd divided the potato/ onion mixture into two pans (one already had some 'soup mix' veg in). I added a tin of stewing steak and some dried herbs to the larger pan (mum's) and simmered it gently. Yesterday I added cut up potatoes and leeks from the fridge and most of a tin of corned beef to the other (mine). It was lovely but I couldn't eat much. I added a large helping of pickled red cabbage and enjoyed it. Hoping to do the cooking apples today (3 large bought ones and 4 tiny HG ones), May do the crumble topping but may just do the apples and freeze in flat foil containers (mum saves them - they fall out of the cupboard every time it's opened).
Grateful for lovely warming food, a lovely sleep, tidying the room progressing, one shelf/ drawer/ space at a time.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

Still suffering this rubbish cold and off work today again.Boredom has led me down the dangerous path of online browsing.Today I’m remaining on NSD 2/5 after purchasing batteries for the bathroom scales. We’re entering that time of year when I need to keep an eye on the numbers. It doesn’t help that DS got a mountain of treats on Halloween, and we have a load of leftover chocolate having had no kids at our door.During my online browsing, I bought socks and a bumbag for our holiday in February, and jeans to replace my pair which had literally given up on me this morning by ripping at the knees. In fairness they have been through the mill sharing the burden of lockdown with my leggings. It’s been such a beautiful crisp autumn day here that I made myself go for a walk. I’ve also managed to put a couple of sneaky items on the decluttering list that belonged to OH.I’m feeling really tired now and think I’ll go for a nap.Grateful today for beautiful autumn weather, warm drinks, and being able to go for a nap.November underspends goalUnderspends into holiday £0/£16060 items challenge

I've been a bit of a failure today. I went for a delicious meal with the lovely cousin and succumbed to a large a glass of wine. And I had to help her with her pudding. Well, I couldn't let it go to waste. On the other hand I did walk there and back.
Haven't even looked at decluttering.
Is there room on the naughty step?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Turtles do not fail @Toni'sfriend they pick their battles, and today you went and had fun with a lovely person and the decluttering can wait til tomorrow. It is not every day.... (it isn't every day is it?? just checking)Very glad you were not disappointed with the meal out - I can't remember the last one I had that I did not think DH/I could have made that better at home.Today I dropped the kids at school, and went on a trawl of the close to school c/s but only for specific items, and did the shops I do not go to more than once a month. Got a few ys bargains in passing - big bags of peanuts and raisins for 20p that are destined for the festive socks - in date until Jan 22.Ended up on a 3 hour wander, and picked up DS2 from college on the way past, and had lunch with DH at home after his lecture. I think that just about encompasses 'eating from stores', 'avoiding coffee shops', and 'exercise'. Felt a good bit stronger today than yesterday - no floaty balloon head so far - but did get a stinking headache after lunch. Hooray for Panad0l.Gratitudes: DH cooking supper (I
that man) , getting some useful clothing bargains, buying the first 'December Sock Gifts' and that DS4 had a good time at Badminton after school.... and that Nuno got the sack. See if Conte does any better.
