NST November 2021: Turtle Strength

Happy Birthday ditty and congratulations Calling.
Thank you all for the good wishes regarding the job but it’s not confirmed yet. Company policy is it has to be advertised internally for a week and I will be told when it’s on the system. I’ve been told to apply and my manager is pretty confident That I will be the only one to apply. He’s hoping to have me on board by mid December.
Today was a spend day as I purchased a wheeled laptop bag as carrying the rucksack killed my back yesterday. I decided this would be a good investment as it will also give me something to hold onto when I’m walking to and from the station which should help my confidence. Medical condition affects my balance and I have had a few highly embarrassing falls in the past. So now I need to remove 61 items from my house by the end of November
Today I am grateful for being financially stable enough to be able to purchase items to make my life easier and potentially safer.
For the free firework displays I can watch from the warmth and comfort of my own home (the dogs are not so grateful for this but are grateful for the extra treats)
and for plenty of fresh and healthy food to choose from for my meals, along with some not quite so healthy treats if I want them.
I am also grateful for the supportive comments made by all the turtles in their posts. It’s lovely to see all the support that the turtles give each other. Every post no matter how brief shows the commitment not only to ourselves but to our fellow turtles too. That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"7 -
Hugs CEW, well done on surviving your assessment Ditty & happy birthday too!
A tricky morning at work, but nothing I couldn't handle. Baptism of fire for the new lady who started this week though! Helped DS1 sort out his car insurance, then sorted out my house insurance, which is also due in a couple of weeks. Counting it as a NSD as have the money ready in a sinking fund envelope. Washed up after tea, then sewed together the pieces of a memory bear I'm making for my cousin. Feeling a bit stressed as I wanted it ready for the hand stitching part, to take while I'm at a craft fayre on Saturday. Got the big shop after work tomorrow, so won't feel up to sewing then when I get home! Had been looking forward to relaxing in the bath, but ended up being a quick dip when it was my turn, so I could finish the sewing off. Had the Julia Bradbury programme on in the background, was nice seeing the places on our doorstep, on TV!
Grateful for a nice afternoon in the junior end of the school, watching a video of when our cats were tiny, seeing the murmuration of birds on my way home & a male pheasant in amongst the stubble of a harvested fieldUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

)
well done calling on new job and avoiding meeting ex
hope you had a lovely birthday ditty
Had a long day yesterday as did FT job in day and PT job#2 in the eve. PT job was a pain, have really struggled with handover from former role holder and people were frustrated about stuff not done but directed it at me when i was as frustrated/fed up as they were! Drove home thinking is it worth it for £94 a month?! My other PT job is in the same sector and people are lovely
Back at FT job today from home so a nice Friday working at my kitchen breakfast bar. Cat has just jumped on my chair so i may be standing this afternoon.
Recycling collected and put a load of paperwork in the paper recycling; also shredded some stuff so will count that as two items for the decluttering total.

Why is it the paid employees who do the least, are the first ones to ask someone unpaid to do something for them????. Think I might need to distance myself a bit from the voluntary role. After 2 weeks of isolating, it seems they have realised they do not know how to do their jobs, and want me to train some other volunteers to 'do what you do'. No doubt it will be at different times to my normal volunteering and so will end up with me doing twice as much in a week. They expect too much sometimes - I know it is the first rule of charity work - wring as much as you can out of the unpaid volunteers, but honestly, there is no reason why the people they employed to coordinate, can't roll up their sleeves and do the work if they do not have the volunteers to do it, but no, it does not get done and they run around like headless chickens, beg you to do something for them, so you go in to do it, and find out they have been drinking coffee in the office while you kill yourself trying to get a job done before 9.30am. Then they don't even have the good grace to come and say Good Morning. I am hacked off today. Then you get asked to go on a 3 day unpaid training event on the other side of the city in case someone has a heart attack - erm, no I don't flippin think so! I really think I am close to having had enough. Then I get home to an answerphone message telling me to do a specific job on Monday that they could have done perfectly well themselves in half an hour today. The volunteering is fine, the management are a total shambles. Rant OverAnyway. It is Friday!!! Hooray! Free time to have fun. Whoop Whoop!Grateful for: not being related in any way to 'Managers' , for having survived another week on Planet Earth, for hot tea and DS2 giving me a hug (he is not always a toad).

Afternoon allStill on 1 / 15 NSD, as we had a big load of logs delivered today. Lots of exercise shifting them though - we live in a terraced house with no front drive, and a shared access lane with garages behind. Anything of that nature needs to be tipped into the entrance to our garage. It can overflow a bit onto the access lane, as long as there is room for neighbours to drive past, but it does need to be cleared asap. All done now, garage swept out and car put back in. As usual I did most of the carrying and OH the stacking as he is really fussy about it whereas I am notFour food items left the house yesterday, donated to the food bank, some jam I was given and won't use because I make our own, some noodles as I seemed to have a vast supply, and some sweets that didn't get handed out at halloween due to lack of Trick or Treaters. So decluttering is at 13 / 60 currently.6
