Right I don't usually report an idea - but I am doing a creative regeneration project, mostly it's just the journal every morning and a bunch of reflective tasks I don't get done. Recently I decided I want to be a green entrepreneur. But the question is what does that mean? Today I found the first answer and the motto is 'make what you want' what I want today is new lampshades or bulb holders, and I figure, if I make some extra ones, then i might sell them, I figure a bit raw, a bit recycled, an bit of funky materials, a bit scandy, a bit scratchy!
The other 'make what you want' bit is curtains. I have been meaning to do this for years, but it needs doing. I want to do hand dyed indigo patchworked, printed, double layered, I think I know what it will look like, But it will be quite a big investment in terms of textiles and dye.
I know there's a few makers on here - so I just thought I would share. No applause needed, I just want to be accountable to myself.
I did start my declutter as well, the lampy making (which won't start till the holls) will be part of de - or possibly re - cluttering my garage.

Ok @ditty1234 you need to make friends with your local charity shop - if there is a colour or particular fabric you are thinking of using, then ask if they have anything in their rag bag with stains, or bleach spots, or moth holes in a sleeve. The textile industry is horrific for the environment, so as much recycled and repurposed as possible is the greenest way. Also if you have a 'wastenot' group locally on The Book Of Face, or a crafter group, or just ask all your friends and work friends if they have any heavy cotton / old curtains. I think I have one pair of 'new' curtains in my house, there are so many expensive sets of curtains in charity shops that are no longer in style. Actually, coming to think of it, quite a few of my local charity shops have bundles of crafty things in them - bags of ribbons. bags of threads, bags of trim etc . Then you ask on freecycl or freegl. - oh! and maybe join one of those adult education sewing groups and tell them about your project!Good luck on your project! Everyone needs a project going into winter.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD 11. Busy day at work - 3 meetings plus doing my actual job. Wanted to drop stuff at the CS but didn’t have time so I’ll try to get there tomorrow.Pleased with my eating today: porridge with mango, an orange, homemade mushroom soup, and a super quick freezer meal from an earlier batch cook with some roasted peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I added another item to my declutter list - a toddler travel case which I’ve listed on the gummytree. Not convinced it’ll sell but I’ll give it a week.
Grateful for seeing the moon during the day, for the beautiful red night sky, and for a warm home.60 items challenge- broken printer (to recycling centre)

Nothing spent today, so I am on 7 / 15 NSDs.Also decluttered a couple of items - an unopened pack of children's toothpaste to DD for her littlest one, and a dried up reed diffuser to the recycling - so 25 / 60.Finished my larder and cleaning cupboard / meds / toiletries inventory, several items were added to the shopping list for later in the week, as the packages in use have almost run out and there are no replacements in stock. I had quite big stocks built up while shielding and having shopping deliveries (and having to make up minimum spends), and although I still have several of some items, things are gradually getting used up. Although I prefer to keep a good store cupboard, as my Grandmother used to say, I don't need large multiples of items. One in use and one spare is fine, unless something I use a lot is on offer at a good price, in which case I may buy two.7

Today was a spend day, but I can now get my fruit happily sozzled in preparation for the Festive Booze Cake! Woohooo!I don't think I need to buy anything else this week now, except for maybe a few decorations in the c/s, so will allocate a day and do that. So sticking on NSD14 and will concentrate on sorting my house back into a decent state, and doing a menu plan, and keeping warm. Brrrrr to scraping the windscreen, brrrr to getting the car warm enough to clear the condensation inside the car, and brrrrrr for working in a food environment with no heating.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hi all
Managed a NSD at last. Did a survey first thing then walked to get booster; had to queue for a while so didn't get home till 10.30am. Clocked into work and spent most of the day sorting out one task! Had a walk after work so achieved my 10k steps. Did exercise class on Fb. Moved furniture around so i could hoover behind the sofa etc & washed the floor downstairs. Have put a load more paper in the recycling. Moved an unused lamp from downstairs to DD2's bedroom.
Gratitudes - WfH so didn't have to scrape windscreen; helpful colleagues; leftovers for lunch

NSD#12 (had mis-counted the other day)
A good day at work, nothing stressful. The meeting afterwards never happened, so went for a quick walk in the darkness. The 'fairy' garden has been decorated for sprout day, looked lovely but we missed the slate with the quote of the day on it! DS1 did the dishes after tea, so I got lots of sewing done. Packaged 3 sold items on the bay of E, still waiting payment on another 3. Looking forward to hear more about your green makes @ditty1234.
Grateful for a billionaire doughnut given to me by my friend who'd had a day trip to Aberdeen at the weekend, selling 2/3 of my listed items, a dusk walkUse it up, wear it out

Not feeling great yesterday so did a rubbish round up (2 paper, 1 cans+, 1 rubbish - not quite full but more was falling out than going in and it was in the way) then booked my COVID booster and an x-ray appointment. One of the things that turned up the day before was a letter sent out in October for my hip replacement review with a review date of 11th November. Further down, I found one of my notebooks which must have been lost around August (has some of the useful lists I started (daily, weekly, monthly tasks and what to check for when). Wrote, addressed and stamped all my Christmas cards.
Finally called for my taxi about 3pm (didn't feel like it but worried that if I stop, I will have no idea how to start again). DS3 says I should have taken the day off, if I wasn't well.
Yesterday's haul included 3 large and 2 smaller cardboard boxes and the paper sack, 6 small rubbish bags, 1 sack of cans, tackling gunge (1/2 a kitchen roll's worth), 1 bin bag of packaging materials under the garden table (non urgent but needs to leave the house), dishwasher unloaded and reloaded. May have miscounted on the small bags because I did a few scoop and bag missions whilst walking back and forth to the bins. Attacking the pyracantha netted two sacks worth of ivy and other greenery, more scratches and needles and lots more bites - the midges are out in force (I did catch and kill 6 of the blighters). One severe headache from the caravan dog on the car park.
I ate whilst I was there (Chinese as I wanted lots of vegetables - not sure if I'm paying for all of these or if DS3 and I are taking turns). I know it's not within the rules but I must be saving the equivalent of £100 per day in professional help or skip fees, so not all that bothered. Probably taking today off (unless I improve a lot or have an urgent need to get out of here). There isn't much to do, to have all the visible floor space in the front room clear (will be more when the couches are moved but need the floor cleared first), Spent some time doing the small couch (where I'm supposed to sit) so various tech items, clothes, pots relocated but not actually 'left' yet - reduced a lot by all the extracted boxes, including one that DS3was saving for the beautiful illustrations (I know he's had it at least 12 months because he refused to let it go during a previous bin filling box purge.
So 4 more items to this month's declutter total and another 25 at my house (hors de combat). My house total to date 162/2021. Grateful for puppies, knowing when to stop (ate and had a rest but still couldn't continue), very little to bring back here. Laptop refused to charge yesterday so will try to get the December challenge up, in case of further difficulties. It worked better after a rest.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Afternoon turtles.
NSD yesterday, boring day at work being given the runaround. Had a meeting with my manager where I tried to say the job isn't working out but she ended up speaking over me most of the time and didn't really listen. I need to pull my big girl pants on and say actually this really isn't working!!
Today was a spend day as I paid for the work Xmas do, it's local and it's cheap so I don't mind going. Am hoping it'll serve as a bit of a goodbye as well with any luck. Really lacking motivation and don't seem able to pull myself out of it for whatever reason. Hopefully it'll improve throughout the week.8 -
Hi turtles sorry been missing since Thursday.Thursday did a big lidlee shop and met friends for a catch up.Friday woke up with cough/ earache and felt rotten. So thought I would have a chilled out sick day at home. Water board arrived 5 mins later, 3 vans. patio dug up, no sign of the leek yet. Poked more holes in neighbours drive. My house insurance will not cover an invisible leak and it has to be doing damage to my property. It might be but no idea where?Looking like I may have to pay to have a new pipe relaid, my poorly head couldn't cope with moleing talk, and costs so I have sort of buried my head in the sand last few days. Need to get a grip on this. Then had gkids staying overnight, luckily they were tired and went to bed reasonable times.Saturday Spending day as took kids out of house for walk and lunch. Cheap and cheerful cafe. Had a gig at night seeing as paid a lot for ticket I went still feeling rough. Enjoyed it however. Got rid of old fridge from garage on marketplace, had to deliver as they arrived in a sports car without boot working to collect. Not far so didnt mind.Sunday Coffee out with kids and dd1 but she paid, then tried to tidy up house but collapsed in a heap.Yesterday - spent met some friends hadn't seen in ages for coffee just before tea. Some part of this challenge involving coffee isn't going to well. It was lovely all got different hobbies, wild swimming, stained glass making, yoga, bollywood dancing so def have a go at them when better. Did a covid test but all clear.Today - collected a xmas tree from supermarket for old couple I know before work, easier to park then and someone helped me get it in my car. Heavy with soil in it. Hope I can lift it. Then going home to enjoy a stir fry and salmon and collapse in a heap once filled another charity bag being collected in the morning with clothes. Decided to get rid of old xmas lights take them in recycling electrical bags. Did buy new ones last year.Mainly done 10k all last week. don't mind walking feel better than sitting in house feeling sorry for myself!Grateful forSoup, tangerines and lozengesHelpful shop assistant this morningFriends - trying to meet up more with themLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/229
