Can I just confess that being stuck at home, somewhat ill and by myself is not a very productive situation. I have mainly just been in bed, not just because I feel ill, or because the heat has gone on the whole garden side of the house, but I just feel a but numb. Yesterday I missed a video therapy appointment because I was watching crap tv. So that says it all. And I had been waiting for that since August.
It's the type of thing I tell teenagers off for all of the time.
HOw does one get off watching crap tv, and put oneself back into focus. I will share my bad taste in tv here - and only here - I believe I have watched or slept through all 24 years of silent witness over the fall, a weird way to deal with trauma I know - but I am now on to the living - so I have watched all of the last kingdom over the last few days, forgot how crap series 4 is, and I'm now on to top of the lake w elisabeth moss who is a favourite, and it has great New Zealand landscapes. Well confession over, I have work to do, assignments to mark, interviews to schedule, basically life is good, and yet I just want to cry. Just because I am tired and I want a hug, and I won't see my family for Christmas - again and because I just need to cry. Well did that.
Am now looking forwards to a planned outing to shop for Christmas food with a same country friend, on Saturday so that should be really nice.
I have a record breaking 15 nsd days.
Am grateful for a warm house(on one side of house), for amazing friends and neighbours who just sorts out my shopping and my bin, and for cool sunshine, even if I have mainly been looking at it.
Appendix: I also bought my son a bed, it takes weeks to order, and I just had enough of discussing it with myself. So it is ordered and sorted. A very basic wooden bed frame with mixed reviews but I'm handy with a screw driver so that will be fine. And a comfy mattress so it might actually be time to get out of bed, and I guess I lost my NSD day today so it's back to 14. Enjoy the sunshine everybody.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hugs @ditty1234 and to anyone else who may need them.
Unnecessary spending today, I've been a VERY NAUGHTY TURTLE and given in to the rampant consumerism of black Friday... bought myself a new phone that I absolutely did not NEED but I'd been watching it for ages and it was definitely better value than before. But that still doesn't negate the fact I didn't actually need it... put me firmly on the chaise longue! Need to sell my old phone when the new one arrives so I can at least partly justify it (who am I kidding lol).
Other than that I haven't spent much. I had to pay for train travel to an interview today and because of train times I ended up buying a small lunch and coffee beforehand to kill some time (and to keep warm!).
It's OH's birthday today so we might have takeaway too, we shall see.8 -
NSD 12 yesterday but spent on buying lunch while in the office today.
Grateful for a day working out of the house, for catching up with colleagues, and for time to listen to my audiobook on the train journey.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8 -
NSD 21 today.
Used up 2 toiletries in the last 2 days, had to bin containers as unable to recycle. Yesterday I received a letter about a tax rebate, requested refund through online service. Will use some of the refund to buy food from my favourite shop for the December celebration.
Grateful for:
Getting notification that my contract at work has been extended until June 2022. Have replied back agreeing to that. Same days and hours.
Other work colleagues who I get along with also getting news about their contract.
Biscuits from my favourite shop being in work.

Congratulations @Kerry_Woman that is a lovely thing to find out - both the contract extension and the tax rebate. Enjoy your party food as a celebration. I am sure it is not just any celebration party food..........Oh dear, lost my NSD for £1.50 - 2 litres of soya milk and 2 bags of ys watercress + spinach salad. Getting a tad annoyed at the empty shelving of soya milk in certain shops. So I bought all they had (2) instead of the 16 I went in for - that is a week's worth in our house, I promise I am not a mad hoarder (yet). It means I will have to go elsewhere and buy more tomorrow. Please keep your flippers crossed for me to get paid tomorrow - it has been a long time since I worked through an agency, but it was always the following Friday that I was paid, hoping it is still the same - the job advert said I would be paid before the end of November, and there is not much of it left! Still on NSD 14 with a smidge over £40 left in the budget.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

🤞@f0xh0les. Good luck with the interview @lcc86
NSD#13 finally achieved another one ☺️ ordered a top for DS2, but he's paying for it. A different day at work, but took it in my stride. We have a yellow warning for wind tomorrow afternoon, so all pupils are to go home at 1pm, hoping the staff get to too...
Caught up on emails when I got home tonight, tackled a sewing frog that only took 10mins in the end, then did the small pile of ironing. Did a few rows of knitting. Was supposed to be meeting two friends for a meal tonight, but one of them said the forecast was bad & doesn't like driving in the dark, so we've changed it to a lunch in town next week instead.
Grateful for starting a 500 piece jigsaw with a pupil at school (I don't have space to do it at home, so thought I'd get to do part of it this way!), sewing frog dealt with, the thought of maybe going home early tomorrow, if not an afternoon with time to discuss things with colleagues
Use it up, wear it out

Hi guys
Today was a slightly spendy day, but I was good and only bought margarine and milk, even though biscuits were calling to me.
I have my booster tomorrow. I’m hoping for no after effects, but I know a few people that have felt a bit poorly for a couple of days so my boss has organised my rota so that I’m not back now until Tuesday. Saying that even if I do feel ill it will be worth the peace of mind of being up to date with my vaccinations.I’ve not needed a weekly shop for two weeks now, with just odd bits needed so some of the saving has gone into the emergency fund and some off the credit card. Luckily I’ve still got the makings of quite a few warming meals as the weather has gone really cold.
So I’m grateful for a thoughtful boss, for comfort food and for having finished my Xmas shopping. All presents done, also cake, pudding etc so just fresh stuff needed.
Anyway time for bed
Night night

Hi Turtles,
Nothing much to report for the last few days as I've been at work and too tired at night to carry on decluttering the garage. Saying that, 2 items have gone: the old chair I bought for my niece and a large block of cheddar on special offer for my son. Both were pleased so all good.
Done 13K+ steps today before my watch went flat. Had a lovely riverside walk and a look at the new marina site. Looks fantastic as they now have the water in and some of the pontoons built. Had a drink in the pub, a sausage roll from Gr*ggs to keep us going walking back and then cooked curry for tea using leftover chicken rather than having a takeaway.
Hoping to go to craft fair and miniature railway with my family at the weekend as long as weather isn't terrible. Shame as its a fundraiser so I hope they do well.
OH sent me a link for holidays to see fjords and northern lights in March 22 but not sure about it with covid still rife. Would love to see them but want to be safe.
Gratitudes: A lovely walk on a bright day, that the kids were pleased with their gifts and that my elderly mum went out for a pub lunch with her friends.
Best wishes to you all. X

The discount on my rail card, just paid for my ticket to town tomorrow, and it will be good for trips all year. Will be great for my near car free life in the new year. And I think maybe I can squeeze out a nsd day today, I don't really need to go food shopping till Sunday. Or tomorrow evening. Happy Friday everybody.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
