Didn’t get round to posting yesterday but had quite a fruitful day. Started with a nail appointment, it’s a fairly new thing for me but as I’ve bitten my nails all my life decided I would try acrylics. I rarely drink, have never smoked and hate clothes shopping (well all shopping if I’m honest) so I think I can have this as a little vice. Treated myself to a meal deal in the sausage roll shop that seems to be on many street corners.Later I pot roasted a large chicken that I had defrosted to try to clear down the freezer a bit in preparation for some festival or other that happens every December. Today I will strip the carcass and decide what to do with the meat. I’m sure some will be refrozen in one form or another as it was a really large chicken.
Now on NSD # 9 as today is a NSD.I also plan to start decluttering one of the back bedrooms. As part of this I have some items that I will put on the Bay of E which should hopefully sell with the festive season approaching.
Had a very interesting chat with my daughter yesterday. Keep seeing all these advertisements for prepaid funerals and over 50’s plans and wanted to check what her feelings were on the subject.I know my estate will be able to pay for my funeral but just wanted to get her thoughts. It was strangely satisfying to have the chat as it’s often a taboo subject. That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"7 -

Afternoon turtles.
Spend day again today. Got OH a coffee voucher for December and also took the opportunity to buy a couple of birthday cards and eco food containers (hate the plastic tat) that keep your food warm so no microwave needed. OH has decided he wants one too so that's another present sorted for him.
Went horse riding this morning, usually swim afterwards but the pool was closed so came home and did some yoga. Put a couple of loads of washing on and then randomly fell asleep for a couple of hours! Good job I didn't have any plans haha. Went for a quick walk just now and will be sorting an early dinner soon. A nice chilled day overall.
Grateful for pony time, yoga and an unexpected nap.7 -
Apologies for being a naughty turtle and not posting again before now. Had an exhausting few days being messed around by work and have struggled to find my mojo since then.
Budget & paying self first - budgets set before the start of the month, standing orders and manual transfers to savings done on 1st of the month, awaiting two DDs still to go out this month.
NSDs - currently at 6/15 so far this month
Decluttering - have got rid of three big boxes that are no longer usable and are smothered in tape, a bag of small electrical items, an old strip light, two bags of non-recyclable waste (would have been too heavy to put out for normal waste collection), a small bag of batteries and a rusty metal stand that we used to have in our kitchen. Dropped a box of knitted boobs at local hospital for their maternity unit. Have collected together a bag and mini case of stuff for charity shop that will need to be dropped off next weekend now, have a bag full of blankets to give to local homeless shelter on way home from dropping brother at work during the week, and a box of traffic light hats knitted for another local-ish hospital that needs to be posted. A massive pile of unwanted paperwork shredded and shredding put in garden waste bin. House still looks a tip, but it’s a start.
2 outings - I have a McFly concert next Sunday and my niece’s birthday meal the Sunday after.
Not done a huge amount beyond the above so far, but still plenty of the month to get doing things.
Today I’m grateful for my nieces still being at the age where they want to spend time with me, for planning lovely days out with family for next month and next year, and getting a nice amount of money-off vouchers for Dobbies through the post that can be spent in the next few weeks.

Bags to recycling bins and an extra one of stuff gathered from the garden - I reuse as much as possible but sometimes you have to admit that the end has come. Another bin bag gathered from my room (that will go out in the morning, there might be a few more bits yet) and an old notebook (pages to paper recycling but hardback cover has to go in rubbish), a pair of old slippers mum gave me (I shouldn't wear slippers and neither should she - hate hearing her shuffling about) and the old mask as will start using the new one. 8 items bringing my current total to 12 (must try harder). New paper bag started and another notebook that will be full shortly.
Feeling brighter today - lots of bits hurt when I move and still have lots to do and very little get up and go, but brighter and lighter will do. Interesting meals, mum was blocking the kitchen so had things that didn't require access to the kitchen. Finished off the wraps and the chicken and sweetcorn, couple of apples, some raspberries, cheese triangles. later I cooked some part baked rolls and more of the cooking bacon (nearly gone). Having a long think about food - sort of meal planning. had a list of easy meals and someone on another thread was asking for ideas (for when you're feeling totally wiped out). Going to work out what I can do with what I've got.
More reading, only the bin bag walk round outside for exercise (lots of bending), clothes in the washer but not setting it off yet (only half full).
Grateful for my fridge-freezer, getting some ideas for moving forward, room looking better (a long way to go but I can see what I've done and getting nearer to the difficult bit)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
Am on 12 NSD today. Been catching up with a few household chores and admin the last few days. Some of them I have been putting off doing. Has been a very busy week in work and have been tired every day. Binned a couple of items as unable to donate or recycle. Managed to get £18.20 for an old phone, pleased about that and will use that money towards getting some food items in my favourite shop for the December celebration.
Grateful for:
For getting a few things done that I kept putting off.
Chilled out time between doing things.

evening turtles
Been a spendy few days - Thursday bought small amount of food and petrol; Friday paid for coffees for DD2 and me; Saturday bought DD2 some jeans; today i've been to the big swedish emporium and bought a glass bottle for olive oil (so i can buy it from the zero waste shop); plastic storage tubs and a rug. Have wanted a new rug for ages and have some money put aside for it. Have also bought tickets for DDs, DD1's bestie and my friend for the outdoor cinema to see Elf, just before Sprouts day. It is outdoors but under shelter (i think/hope!).
Was up at 5am on Friday to drive 180 miles to take DD2 to her hospital appointment. Dr said she is doing well and can now do exercise & she is on tablets rather than injections. Spent the afternoon together, she treated me to lunch and we had a wander then had an hour in her flat so i hoovered her floor and changed her bed for her before driving again to her boyfriend's. Stayed the night there, spent Saturday with DD2 and then drove home in the late afternoon. Today i have been out with DD1, she treated me to lunch and we did a quick shop in the swedish place. Glad to be home this evening.
Managed to declutter plastic packaging at t0sco and recycled some work paperwork - counting that as 2 more things. Have also done 10k steps everyday.
Gratitudes - NHS/kind Drs; spending precious time with both DDs; hospitality of DD2's boyfriend's family
love to all

Hi Turtles, had a lovely day today! My friend came over and showed me how to do felting whilst we had a catch up on news. We made bees as they are smallish and fun. Had a nice lunch and plenty of coffee. So nice to mess about together and the bees are so cute!
Made a boo boo as I bought lactofree cream instead of vegan for my friend but we didn't need it in the end anyway. I'll have it on crumble tomorrow.
Nearly managed a NSD but had forgotten I'd promised to go halves on some black sketching paper so that was £6.
Only 5K steps as we've been sitting nattering and crafting all day!
Decluttering: A bag full of magazines for my friend to take home.
Gratitudes: A lovely day crafting with my friend, a nice lunch and a chance to use some of my craft stash up.
Time to iron my uniform for another day in paradise (work 😂) tomorrow.

NSD#9
Had planned to tackle a large frog today (tax return), sat for 3 hours this morning looking at my books & couldn't make head nor take of it! Messaged my friend, who came to look after sheep wrangling (she's married to a farmer), she said I've been making things difficult for myself & helped me start an easier system - phew! Got that sorted ready to look out all the other relevant paperwork now. Whilst waiting for her to arrive, I tidied up lots of chicken wire used for other projects, the grass had grown very long through it, so was a bit tricky to untangle it, chopped up some branches into the compost heap & tidied all the hosepipes away. Chatted with my brother on the phone, did the ironing, then a quick bath ready for the last episode of Angela Black.
Grateful for helpful friends, tidying outside, a great ending to the seriesUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Hi Just a quick update, had a NSD day on Saturday and very low spend yesterday. But have to get diesel and a few bits for the week today. My cheapo bike lights are perfect, snap on and looks fairly bright and recharge. So all ready to bike to work tomorrow. THis week is vacc/booster week. Flu vacc tonight and Covid booster on Sunday. So I think I will gracefully skip running today. I feel as tired as the night any how - not sure why, had a real wobble this morning, before work and almost stayed in the car, but I managed to crane myself into the building. Time to get those vitamins sorted.
I am grateful for things that work, like my planning, some of my communication and accountability like this thread.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
