Sealed Pot Challenge ~ 15

Got three pounds in change so have potted that today.
Said a few words on BBC local radio about the Queen as there was a roving reporter out and about. Problem is the other chap being interviewed was so much more eloquent than me.  I must have sounded like an uneducated Wurzel! 
Thankfully our Sue is at the other end of the county so likely gets a slightly different version of radio programmes, and every one else on here is flung far and wide

Apologies for about a month's absence, I'm still potting and looking forward to opening day. I'm one of our number who has been hit hard by the death of our Queen. I hope those of us grieving her loss are doing ok. We have so much to be grateful for her amazing long reign.
I've been putting some uncounted handfuls of coins in the pot, I've had 2 more lovely £2 coins as well to add

Hello, I’ve got £50 to pot when I can get the cash out later this week.  £38 eventually from TCB on a purchase last October and a £10 postcode lottery win.  I too am saddened by the passing of the Queen.  Wouldn’t consider myself a royalist in any way but such an elegant and dignified lady.  My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family and those in the royal households who knew her best.  Loosing a loved one is never easy no matter who you happened to be ❤️

Sorry I've been absent for a couple of weeks, I have no idea where the time goes but needless to say, opening day is approaching with alarming speed.  I agree with the messages above, you have to admire and respect the Queen regardless of your views on the monarchy.  She totally dedicated her life to her country and even if her passing was expected by the family, it will still have come as a great shock to them.  

I've been steadily potting away over the past few weeks and will add another £5 today.  Enjoy the rest of the week and stay safe

Very sad news last Thursday on Her Majesty's sad passing, it took some digesting as she's been there most of my life, even if I wasn't aware of it until early school years. I'm not really a true royalist, but have always held a deep respect for them, especially The Queen, a really wonderful lady! I sincerely wish King Charles a long and healthy reign, I think he may be more relaxed than the Queen, however, it remains to be seen to what degree and whether it's good or not.

Very well done with your pot, Keedie, it's always good to hear how full folks pots feel. I'm sure it also helps  keep us motivated to keep up our great work. Having said that, I haven't saved much cash at all since Covid began due to the risks thought to be associated and a couple of local shops STILL refusing to deal with cash even now forcing us to transfer from our bank account to another set up for SPC. We've also been having our groceries delivered due to T's spine problems.

Hence why, even already knowing about the PAD thread, I'm unable to do so! 🙄 So, thanks Keedie, but no can do.

Thanks Ant, but as said to Keedie I've been aware of PAD for a while now, but unable to use it daily or anywhere near as like. 

I've no doubt your description of yourself sounding like Wurzel on the radio was simply due to your Somerset accent, but like as not, the other chap probably had a posh accent, either way I wouldn't worry about it as it's what you say that counts, not the accent/dialect in which you naturally speak. As for me and radio, I had to stop using it years ago as when music plays it affects the epilepsy. The years I loved listening to dear Ray Moore and Terry Wogan fully unaware of what the songs were doing to me!! A drastic difference without it now.

I've certainly experienced localised rain extremely closely, especially many years ago when living at Cirencester. On the way to work it was pouring with rain, I went to cross the road....and it was completely DRY, yet still pouring a couple of steps away!!! 😲 Yes, that was certainly localised!

I'm so very sorry to hear about you having Covid, LMD, it almost sounds to the degree hubby and I had it in early 2020. I sincerely hope you're soon feeling very much better!

Her Majesty's death has come as quite a shock, even more so for all those confirmed Royalists like yourself. Of course for you it's come not long after the sad loss of your dear mother. Very best wishes to you and take great care.

You sound a lot like me with regards to Her Majesty, great admiration for her, but not quite a royalist. I quite agree with what you say about her grieving family and those who are in the royal households, such a tragic loss, but thank goodness she wasn't left alone without her beloved husband, Prince Philip for too long, unlike Queen Victoria. 

Time speeds by since Covid hit don't you find, Siju? Or perhaps it's age! I totally agree with you, even when we know the death of a loved one is immenent, it's still comes as a real shock.

I’ve potted some more travel savings today. What a tough time that must have been with your epilepsy. As always, you cope with things with such good grace.

Not much cash to pot here either.  I agree, Sue, that so many places want cards now even for small sums.  I had to use the automated till in Boots yesterday and pay on my card for a £2.50 tube of toothpaste!  Very frustrating.  I have potted just a few coppers that G happened to have lying around unattended!
I have been feeling very sad that our beloved Queen has passed but she looked so frail when she appointed Liz Truss as our new PM on Tuesday last week so the announcement came as no surprise.  She has earned her eternal rest.  Rest in Peace Ma'am.

Very many thanks Ant, I do my best with it, but the worse ones are waking seizures where I don't go unconscious. My head burns horribly while the rest of the seizure goes on for roughly half an hour. Thank the dear Lord for my beloved T!! 😇

I quite understand your sadness, little_sweetie, Her Majesty did look so terribly frail on the Tuesday before, yet Boris' said she was still so chipper when they were with her, showing the remarkable resistence she had until the end, bless her.

After all those years of being blessed with her, it was quite a shock when the announcement came!

I'm glad you too are experiencing the same problems re cash, it's so maddening. T had to return from shopping in a local shop last week as he didn't have the right money nor his card, so double the journey to get the goods!! 😠
