I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend SPCers, and the week ahead too. isn't looking so good. For anyone who is either poorly, or are down in anyway, take great care and get well soon. Best wishes from us all.Crikey Jakes-mum, back soo soooon!
Ah it's good to see you for sure.
I've no idea how the sale of flats etc go, though 2 years does sound a heck of a long time. Have you had any viewers? If so, have you had any feedback from them about why they don't want it. Do take into account the cost of living crisis though! Also, be careful about eating out as unless you have a very reasonable restaurant it might be very costly compared with cooking a meal, especially as you don't HAVE to use the oven too much. T & I have already decided to use the oven only on Sundays for a roast. The rest of the week will be with the Slow Cooker, Air Cooker and the hob.We use the hob alone a lot for meals.i e A meal of fish, potatoes and cabbage and carrots (the latter cooked together in a steamer) which works out very reasonable! A stew (without meat, which is how we always prefer it) works out extremely reasonable as it always does for 2 days and is plenty! The one thing T (remember I'm unable due to the cook due to epilepsy) has tried lately is when we do veg, cook enough for 2 days. The second amount he lets cool then puts it in a cooker bag and pops it in the fridge. That works out perfectly and tastes perfect!! T has also tried doing the same with cabbage and carrots, bagging up when cool and putting them in the freezer, we will see how that works! There are so many healthy meals to cook without the use of an oven. Chips cook beautifully in an air fryer, sausages, chicken pieces and so much more too. Whereas restaurant prices are all going skywards! Imagine when the January 2023 rises strike!!So much is said about mums not being able to afford to feed the family, yet if they looked up reasonable meals and how to make them they'd find endless recipes on YouTube etc. Please everyonedon't fret about all the money you won't have because of expensive meals, usually frozen or ready made, look around for recipes for home made meals with plenty of vitamins and the essentials for the family without costing the earth, you'll find plenty there!! If my dear hubby can produce such meals, so can YOU!!Have a good week, folks! 😊Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022, it's NEVER too late to join

Just catching up on posts as I keep forgetting to post, but I've been sporadically squirrelling away some coins and my tin is starting to have some weight to it now. I've potted £10.50 as I had 5x £2 coins and a 50p and I don't spend these as I save them to pay for holidays.
Getting excited for all the pots to be opened, even though mine is a little lighter than I'd wantedDebt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Nice to see you ‘over here’
Keedie
Great potting. It all adds up. Sealed Pot Challenge is a great way of saving for me, as regular small-ish amounts are relatively painless to save, especially once I’ve formed the habit.
Didn’t go into office today, so potting a few more pounds worth of travel savings.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 55 -
Yes, I'm here from the other side @AntoMac
. It really does all add up doesn't it? As I usually use my sealed pots towards holidays, I'll cash this year's one and pay it off my Barclaycard as that's where the balance of my holiday ended up after the money transfer I did last month. I'm really hoping for about £60-70 but I've not potted much, so we'll just see...

Starting to use cash more, and getting excited about potting spare change again. Managed to pot £9.17 today due to receiving 3x £2 coins and 3x 50p coins whilst out shopping today.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

A good Thursday SPCers! I hope everyone's had a fair amount of much-needed rain, though it'll take a long time to top all the reservoirs etc up to where they should be.For anyone who is either poorly, or are down in anyway, take great care and get well soon. Best wishes from us all.You keep right on squirreling away, Keedie! I'm so pleased your pot is feeling weighty, brilliant. 😃I know for sure that mine will be nothing like it normally is, but it's only to be expected given the times we're in! 🙄I'm so glad you're getting excited about everyone declaring their savings on the 27th October, and I know I'll still be excited this year even though it's bound to be less. However, whatever it is, it'll be a lot more than not having saved at all!! 😊Hi Ant, I take it you and Keedie have met on other threads, at least I hope that's what the 'other side' means! 🙄 That's some excellent potting you've made, so keep it up Ant!!! 😊Considering how close we're getting there have been very few folk on lately. A shame, but not to worry, they'll turn up when they're ready.I know Martin's been on Twitter about whatever the PM has had to say, so I'll finish this off then pop and have a look. Not sure I want to in some ways, but...🙄😵💫 These are frightening times we're currently in.Have a good day, folks, a good Friday too! Take care.😊Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022, it's NEVER too late to join

Thanks @Sue-UU, I keep picking up the tin to test the weight to motivate me to keep saving 🤦🏾♀️. I had another £1 potted today. And yes, @AntoMac is on the Payment a Day Chapter 18 thread with me (which is a great thread) and is one of my main cheerleaders on my diary, always offering great advice and support 🤗.

Hello @Sue-UU , yes the ‘other side’ is Keedie’s debt free diary. I picked up on it from seeing Keedie’s postings on here.
Like yourself she’s a wonderfully kind and considerate person, if a little hard on herself at times. I think we need to have a word about that @Keedie. I think many of us are guilty of being harder on ourselves than we would be about another person in the same position, self included. We’ve had some much needed rain too - we’re in the same county of course, although a lot of the downpours seem very localised.
I think this year I will be very happy with my final figure, but this is very much my main way of saving, getting it out of sight and out of mind.
Whatever anyone’s views on the Royals are (and I know we rightly stay away from politics etc. on this thread) what a lady the Queen was. In my opinion she stood head and shoulders above the rest of her family, and conducted herself impeccably well. A permanent fixture in all of our lifetimes now strangely gone.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 55 -
Yes @AntoMac, I do need to have some words with myself a time or three 😂. I am quite hard on myself, I'll be the first to admit that. Thank you for such kind words, that really touched me!
I feel sad that the Queen has died, and I wouldn't consider myself a Royalist or anything, but she was a staple part of life so it feels weird. She came to the throne the same year my mum was born! She led a good life. My son asked if we're going to get new money now, and that hit me as I've never known a different currency, as everything has always had the Queen on it... 😢.

Apologies for absence, I have been on holiday and now have the dreaded Covid
It's lingering on and I still feel very poorly indeed. I have still been potting virtually with my payment round ups, I am looking forward to declaration day!
