Hi Everyone
I don't post very often but I'm still quietly potting when I get any cash. Just potted £2.50

It all adds up @Dragon_Lily so keep potting whatever you can whenever you can. I’ve managed to add a few more pound coins to my second pot over the weekend along with a little saving from a special offer on some shopping.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 55

Hi SPCers! I hope everyone has had a great weekend, and that you've all been enjoying the recent gorgeous weather! For all those feeling poorly or low in any way, I hope you'll soon feel so much better. Love and best wishes for now 💖Hi Dragon_Lily, as Ant so rightly says, whatever the sum we manage to save, it all adds up and makes the difference to our Totals in October, and with today being the longest day, that really doesn't seem so long to go! Whatever you're able to save, please do so, however small.Hi Ant, and excellent potting with your pounds as well as money saved.Wherever is everyone!
I know it's summer, but...! Whenever I came on since last posting last there was no one here. Ah well, whatever you're all doing, enjoy yourselves, the weather too.

Thank you for my birthday wishes, sorry not seen them until now. A month ago already!!
No update on the heart thing, not heard back from consultant yet with a follow-up appointment so on we go.
I was given 4 x £2 coins in my change from a tenner today by Sainsbury's, in the absence of a £5 note, so added to the one already in my purse that's £10 to go into the actual pot. There's £465.03 in my Plum virtual pot, I've had a few Ebay sales although I sometimes balance them against Ebay purchasesand I just had to dip in to some of my other savings to pay towards a large vet bill after the dog had some warts/lumps removed yesterday. She is not a happy husky! Savings are still generally going strong though and we may get some insurance back on that, we're not sure yet but until the cycle of follow-ups is complete which I'm sure will cost additional money, we won't be able to put the claim in anyway.
We've also managed to book a short break away, in a glamping pod. So, not quite finished with camping and a good job we hadn't yet got rid of all our gear! I presume the site had had a cancellation as it's for August Bank Holiday week and I was really surprised to get a booking. It'll just be nice to get away.
Stay well and take care all xSPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Another £1.50 potted. Not much on its own but it all counts towards the final total.
Took my Mum for her covid booster today. She got into conversation with the next lady in the queue. Lady was telling her how difficult the lockdown was and how much weight she had put on. Mum is very hard of hearing so she said “Ooh that was good!” Deafness is of course invisible so what can you do? They remained in polite conversation anyway.
Also very uplifting to see the kind way another lady in the queue was looking after her husband with dementia. I quickly noticed he kept asking her the same question over again and she was so gentle, patient and reassuring with him. Another invisible affliction that must be so difficult for loved ones to deal with.
Keep potting what you can when you can potters. Every penny adds up.

Hello, I haven’t potted much recently, just a few coins. Not sure if I mentioned I lost my uncle in early April, well now my aunt (his widow) has been diagnosed with cancer. Very early stages and found by “luck” but they won’t treat as she is 88 and currently very active. Not sure how lucky it was to find out; ignorance is bliss I suppose. My cousin who is an only child is not coping well at all very understandably. I’ve got my boy booked to have an assessment next week which may help him with some of his issues, fingers crossed. Went to Gardeners World last Saturday and going to Beamish tomorrow so may come back with a bit of change 🙂

I'm very sorry to hear all of this @Hettyhound. I hope your aunt will be okay and your cousin too. Good luck with your boy's assessment. Try and make some time for yourself too. xx

Hi SPCers! I hope you've all had a good week, and you've all been enjoying the gorgeous weather! For all those feeling poorly or low in any way, I hope you'll soon feel so much better. Love and best wishes for now 3Hi MrsShazbat, still no news about the heart then, a bit like my friend and hers was at least 3 months ago!Let's hope it's an indication of neither being too bad then.Excellent news about your potting!!So sorry to hear about your poor dog, but it must be a good sign for him/her to have the lumps removed.I know you won't be going away for a good while, but have a smashing time when you go. You sound like hubby and I, over the past few years we've stopped camping due to his spine problems but used to thoroughly enjoy ourselves, often the grandkiddies too. Still, glamping is a great alternative. You take great care too.Hi Ant, I had to have a giggle about your mum, bless her. T had a few of those times after needing the removal of mastoid bones in both ears, all down to him having an infection and the belligerent Dr refusing to send him to ENT until he'd insisted on giving him 8 lots of antibiotics!! 😡 As soon as he finally got there the surgeon told him he'd need the mastoid removal from both, quick!! They weren't long in doing them, but afterwards we had plenty of the occasions like your mum until he was able to have a hearing aid. You're right about dementia also being an invisible affliction, my dear lifelong friend is already in a home with severe dementia, she's the same age as me!! Such a cruel affliction!!Keep on potting Ant, though I know full well you will for sure!Take care of yourself.Hi Hetty, I'm sure you did mention the loss of your uncle, how sad to hear the news of your aunt, such a rotten shame at her age. So sad it hadn't been at an age where they could have done something for her.Ignorance, I agree can be bliss, but not always. Such a shame about their son, little wonder she/he's finding it hard to cope. Some good news about your son being given an assessment to see if they can help him, I sincerely hope so! Fingers crossed Hetty! So pleased you had such a lovely time at GW, not sure what/where Beamish is, but enjoy that too, and good luck with the change!!Take care of yourself.Good to see you, Keedie.Another lovely £20 transferred to the SPC account, plus a few coins in the pot.Take great care folks, and beware of the heat 🥵🥵Have a SUPER WEEKEND Potters!Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022

One thing I would say @Hettyhound
When a dear Aunt of mine was diagnosed with cancer well into her 80s they didn’t treat as they told her it spreads very slowly in older people, and she was fine well into her 90s. You wouldn’t have known she had it seeing her day to day. Hopefully your Aunt will have similar luck.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 55 -
Hello everyone, I haven't been up to much in the way of potting over the last few weeks as my Mum passed away on June 15th. I'm so grateful for her long life, and although her death was expected it's still a shock to the system.
