Good Afternoon Potters! I hope you're all thoroughly enjoying your wonderful Bank Holiday! For all those of you either unwell or low in spirits, take great care and get well soon. Love and best wishes from us all. ❤️Hi Ant, yes, we in Somerset were certainly blessed with a gorgeous day on Sunday, though I think apart from Scotland most of the country shared our weather. Today isn't too bad, a bit windy but at least it's dry.I bet your mum really enjoyed your company, your help too.I'd thought everyone had at least Thursday off until our DD said our S-I-L had to work, a little unfair given such an event! 👑Good for you potting more pounds Ant!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.Very well done LMD, more money potted! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.Really well done, Keedie! It's always a good buzz when we're able to add more to the pot!! Fingers crossed for more soon. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.Have a great BANK HOLIDAY, Potters, and keep safe and healthy!Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022

Yes it all adds up @Keedie so keep potting what you can.
My usual box of 4 Nakd bars were on offer at 1.75 instead of the usual 2.50, so got two boxes and potted the 1.50 saved. There’s also a penny under my car seat which I’ll pot when I’m not too lazy to fish it out.
Hope everyone has had a good Monday.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 53 -
@AntoMac you're right. I need to stop being hard on myself. Good on you for potting the savings, I probably would've spent it
. But I'm trying to change... lol.

A very good Afternoon SPCers! I hope you all enjoyed a super Bank Holiday! For all those of you either unwell or low in spirits, take great care and get well soon. Love and best wishes from us all. ❤️Hi Keedie, yes thanks, I hope you really enjoyed it too.Whether you're adding up slowly or not, the main thing is that you're saving - and that's fantastic!Great potting Ant! A good offer on the Nakd bars, what are they like for calories.. if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to find something a little sweet to eat after our evening meal (my "I feel like something sweet" time of day, but most things are either high in calories or fat, but usually both!Good luck with a good haul after fishing under the car seat!No no no Keedie! 😯 We don't spend what we save, we POT it asap! That's what a true SPCer does, and I've no doubt you will! 😉You're doing so well with both, LMD!! Great work. 🤗Enjoy a good week, Potters, keep safe and healthy!Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022

Ooh now there’s a good question Sue , I just had a look and they tend to be around the 140 calorie mark. Not sure if that’s high or not compared to other snacks. I’ve always been taken in by the ‘1 of 5 a day’ bit so figure they must be way healthier than chocolate.
The things is @Keedie , before I got into sealed pot challenge I would always have frittered away any shopping savings. When it comes to opening the pots I’m always so glad I saved a bit here and a bit there.
Potted a few more pound coins today rather than going for a pint of beer27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 52 -
Don't worry @Sue-UU and @AntoMac I'm very slowly getting there...! I need to get better at impulse shopping and seizing 'bargains' and overspending that way, but I've managed to pot another £4.66 today.
I think I need to stick to cash, as tapping away with contactless isn't really helping me (although my round ups on Mozo are automatically saved to a sealed pot). I'm getting inspired by you all, so I'll be better prepared financially as time goes on. I'm hoping to have a very full tin by 27 October 2022, that I can pour into the Money Magic Machine at my Metro Bank! @LittleMissDetermined has helped me with her fantastic spreadsheet, so I will do a proper budget and get a handle on things. I think I'll look into cash stuffing envelopes as well, so that I get used to setting things aside properly and living on cash whenever I can, as more and more shops are taking cash these days.xx

£5 potted to the virtual pot this evening
LMD x
Keep going @Keedie! There's still time left and every penny potted will be money towards paying for Christmas, or a holiday or whatever you would like to spend money on at the end of OctoberLife gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25713 -
Thanks @LittleMissDetermine. I've decided to treat myself to something in the Black Friday sales with whatever I've managed to save in my virtual and sealed pots. I think I'll need to work out what I really want, and then print a picture of it to put on my tin, so that I can see my goal. That'll help me to stay motivate. Today was my first NSD as well - yippee! lol xxDebt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle
