What a lovely Easter weekend we had! The weather was just perfect for a spot of gardening. On Sunday our DGS was christened and we had a great afternoon catching up with family that we haven't seen in ages.
Another £2.35 in the pot this week. Enjoy the rest of the weekSPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.834 -
Good to see plenty of good potting going on. Slowed my own potting down a bit due to a hefty car expense but back on it now. Hi Sue & all you potters out thereJust a quick update from me. I've gone ahead & started the broadband switch but I think I may have done this a few days too early? and I'm not sure what the repercussions will be. My minimum term with EE ends on 01 May, thereafter the price of my broadband would go up to £36 per month. I've just signed up for Plusnet (£25 per month & £75 reward card), Plusnet say the swap over can take 10+ days to... maybe I'm worried over nothing? My Nephew hasn't picked up the TV but I've gone ahead and cancelled, I should get a months refund from the licensing people.Mid May, not June - I'll be calling into Barclays to ask them to contact their 'debt' department to give me an exact amount which needs to be paid to settle the loan. I should have enough money (if my calculations are correct).
My electric company (Eon Next) has been getting on my nerves over the past few months. Has anyone else experience this 'new recommended monthly payment' adjustment on their account? They've done this to me three times now. Most recently, they changed my monthly direct debit from £45 to £160, I've never been a heavy user.So no holiday this yearalthough I might try and save up a few hundred (in my new tin) for a short weekend break in Scotland, we'll see

Ouch @rancid-a that’s a massive hike from E.ON. Mine went from 48 to 82 pounds. I’ll look out for a ‘new recommended payment’ with trepidation!Well done on changing your broadband and the other savings you’re making. It must be a good feeling to nearly be debt free, rather than take a holiday now but with the worry of debt hanging over you.
I always use my sealed pot challenge money for a paid for short break. It’s always so much more enjoyable when the cost of it isn’t in the back of your mind.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 53 -
Hi SPCers, I hope you really enjoyed a wonderful Easter Weekend! What some gorgeous weather. Enjoy the rest of the week. For all those who are poorly or down in any way, take great care of yourselves and get well soon. ❤️Hi Hummingbird, I've had a lovely Easter and hope yours was just as good. Excellent potting, especially with the £2 coins!! 😊Wow LMD!! It might have been a while since you potted anything, but you've certainly made up for it now, brilliant!! 🫣😱Wasn't the weather gorgeous, Siju! What a lovely day to have your DGS Christened, the perfect day. 😊Good potting!Sorry to hear about your car expense, Ant, and pleased your back potting again now. You stay well too.Hi again James. Ah you're with the same broadband ISP as DH & I, we've been with Plusnet for a good while and have no regrets at all. I wouldn't worry about the wait as it's well worth it. 😃As Ant says, it's a massive hike from EON, we're with SSE, but our granddaughter is with Octopus, I wish we were too as they're certainly cheaper! I'm glad we didn't go to EON!!Don't worry about missing out on your holiday, you can always have one when everything is sorted out.Take care James, and don't worry about things, it won't change anything so is never worth it. 🫠See you soonGood advice Ant!! 😃Have a great Thursday folks.
Keep well!
Save as well as you're able, folks, though I quite understand it's not going to be easy for the future, just do your best as any cash you're able to pot will come in handy for whatever you need it for, and maybe a little for the pot!Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022

Hi everyone!Sorry to have been MIA, but I became poorly with COVID 😫. Having avoided it for 2 years, it finally caught up with me. On the plus side, it was a time of very little spending!
I have been doing little bits of potting along the way, so I think I’ve potted about £70 across the month! Pretty delighted with that!
Have a good day everyone.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared6
