Morning, we are still feeling poorly from Covid (now testing negative though) so we aren't going anywhere to spend money so I have sent £4.40 to the virtual part of my pot.
Happy Tuesday!

I've added another £30 compensation to my sealed pot.
I was trying to log into one of my apps and I got a message to say that I needed to ring the building society. I rang an advisor who could not understand why I had got this message, and even after talking to two other people, kept saying that was not part of the process and I should have got a log in code on my mobile phone. I read out the message to him which clearly said I had to ring customer service. After 40 minutes of getting nowhere, I asked for it to be logged as a complaint.
Got a ring back in the afternoon - was told the answer should have been clear to the advisor. My mobile number had not been added to the correct part of the app (their error), she amended this and then it worked perfectly.
She offered me £30 compensation which I was happy to accept.

I only buy lactose free milk and it has gone up from £1.30 to £1.85 in my local co-op. Sometimes I can get it for less at different shops, but not always.
Last week I called into the Spar in town where I found it on sale for £1.29. My Lloyds account currently has 10% cashback for Spar, so that's quite a win. I'll be adding the cashback to my sealed pot when I get it, and a trip into town gets me out and about.
Food costs have increased quite a bit recently. I shall go to Sainsbury's this week if the offers are still valid on things I often buy as well. Not Rachmaninov

Evening all, not been around for a while.
Received a £2 coin in some change today, so that went into the pot. My various savings pots currently total over £1000 which I’m very chuffed with.
In other news, it looks as though I won’t need to have the cardio version op to correct my heartbeat. Since the initial bout of AFib passed I haven’t had any prolonged recurrences and my consultant is happy that everything is OK. I need to have a 24-hour monitor on, and an ECG and if they are all OK, I can also come off the blood thinners if I wish. There is still a small stroke risk of 1-2%, and having had that dangled over me I will probably stick with the tablets. My current ones need to be taken 12 hours apart so my consultant is going to swap them to 1-a-day, so I’m not beholden to alarms every day - that way I can take my thyroxine, beta blocker and thinner all together when I get up in a morning. Aside from all that, age is on my side and where possible I need to try and shift a bit more weight, having already lost 2stone. That’s the hardest bit but I’m persevering!SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Evening Potters
@Sue. It was indeed James, I didn't think you'd remember so I signed off with my board name
I've added the new number, thanks. also bought a new tin with a coin slot in the top of it, It's a big tin too. I transferred all the coppers & small silver I had from in a mug in to it. No idea how much went in though, It'll give me something to open when everyone opens their savings pot later this year.
My Broadband contract ends soon (EE £36 monthly), so I may swap if there's better deals out there? I think they'll all cost roughly the same, but there's no harm in having a look.
Got the night off work so I might spend some extra time browsing the boards then watch a little Netflix.
Cya later

Morning all and Happy Easter
Finally got to see the grandchildren last weekend after our holiday. We wanted to wait a week before meeting them in case we brought anything nasty back home with us. They are both developing really fast and such very different characters. It's an absolute joy to be with them.
Potted £8.38 this week. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend folksSPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.835 -
A very happy Thursday, folks, and a lovely Bank Holiday! To all those who are poorly or low in spirits, get well soon and come on back to SPC!Hi Hicksy, here's hoping you get some joy with your firm. Keep up the good work with your miles!Poor you, LMD, I really do hope you're feeling a lot better soon, though if you're now testing negative you must be heading in the right direction. 😃 Well done with the £4.40.A troublesome way to earn £30 compensation, D, but I'm really pleased you they gave it to you after all your troubles! After a couple of lines I thought you were going to say it was a scam, thank goodness not. What a shocking increase on your milk, though it seems the same with most things nowadays. T & I get a particular Kitchen Towels which jumped from £4 + to £7 + !! Needless to say it went back quick smart!! Good luck with Sa!nsbury's.Great potting and take care. I'll be with you soon.Bizarre indeed Hetty! 🤩 At least it's safe now.A very wise choice given any stroke risk, MrsShazbat. I'm really pleased you won't need an op to sort out the Afib situation and that things have settled down, long may they stay that way!Congratulations on your 2 stone weight loss, brilliant!! Keep walking at a brisk pace, it'll also help a great deal.Excellent work getting to £1,000 so far!!Hi James, though if you prefer rancid that's fine, I'm just so glad the grey cells are still doing their thing!I'd definitely try to get as cheap a deal as possible for your broadband. Have a look through the BB costs and their effectiveness here on MSE and see what the consensus is.Thanks a lot for swapping your Nos over. Well done with however much you potted and good luck with your Grand Total come October!Take care James.A very Happy Easter to you too, Siju. The best idea to wait a while and be sure so the little treasures stay safe. They grow so quickly at their age, I agree it's a joy to be with them. Our little darling is such a smiley darling, even if she doesn't know folk. I hope you had a really wonderful holiday and the weather was good.Excellent potting!Have a super Bank Holiday!£15 transferred to the SPC account.Have a very Happy Easter everyone!!Sue xxHave a LOVELY EASTER, folks.
Keep clear from Covid, though thankfully, it's starting to wain now!
Save as well as you're able, folks, though I quite understand it's not going to be easy for the future, just do your best as any cash you're able to pot will come in handy for whatever you need it for!Sue xxNB folks: The opening date for this year is 27th October 2022
