Unit rates will drop to offset the standing charge increase for an average user but low users will still be paying moreDeleted_User said:It's disappointing if the Standing Charge is still going to increase. Has it definitely been confirmed that only the unit cost is not increasing? I have gas and electricity, thank you.
If anyone has a link to the new charges from 01 April now for Southern Scotland I'll really appreciate it.1 -
Thanks, superkoopauk. By being very careful (although I would like to be warmer) I am a low user. Is there a link to see how I can work out what it means for me?0

I think we'll have to wait until later in the week for the details.1

Thanks GingerTim. Trying to be realistic: Even if standing charges are going up it will still be better than if both unit rates and standing charges were increasing.
Always glad to get good information here on the Energy Forum, as well as on the other MSE Forums.1 -
Ah but that's the old adage. "You can't please all of the people all of the time"[Deleted User] said:
A local swimming pool recovers the heat generated by an adjacent crematorium. Not all the public were happy when this was first mooted.Mstty said:Heat capture and use. Brilliant

I'd be happy for my remains to be of use, donor card tick, body to heat local amenity tick.1 -

Thanks Mstty. It's really cold here (practically freezing) there is hopefully breathing space coming over the summer. This will help to build some credit in energy accounts ahead of next winter.
Although I know this would be for a different Forum, I was chuffed to bits to get two really good/cosy tank top type garments in my local charity shop recently. ... Every wee bit helps!1 -
I cannot understand why the EPC and EPG rates for each region are easily accessible online.Deleted_User said:It's disappointing if the Standing Charge is still going to increase. Has it definitely been confirmed that only the unit cost is not increasing? I have gas and electricity, thank you.

The EPC figures from 1st April were set last month and the EPG unit rates are not increasing on 1st April.
Yet I cannot find either of these sets of data anywhere.1 -
@Deleted_User There is now a thread running on the board which hopefully will eventually get the various suppliers rate cards added - might be worth bookmarking that.

Thanks, but as they remain the same surely these figures should be readily available somewhere.EssexHebridean said:@Deleted_User There is now a thread running on the board which hopefully will eventually get the various suppliers rate cards added - might be worth bookmarking that.

And the price cap was announced on 27 Feb, so where are these figures?0
