OVO 1 year fix first to the market?
not rushing to hit the renew now button just yet!
according to there figures for svr in this area for the next quarter it would work out as 1.47p cheaper on gas units and 2.92p cheaper on electric.
but i think the gambol is if prices come down as predicted later on in the year and better fixes come onto the market if it works out as better over the 12 months. sensible money might be on yes but that far in advance is always nothing but a guess.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.1 -
Sorry for posting in probably the wrong place, but I'm not familiar with this part of the forum.
I can see a lot of people debating the new rate of standing charge, but I'm wondering if some kindly soul will point me in the direction of the new regional unit and standing charge rates AFTER the government discount (cap)?
I believe these were due to be published after the budget on 15 March, but the tables I've been able to find seem to be the ofgem rates before the discount.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.0 -

Those are the EPG rates, excluding the 5% VAT, the standing charges are as per the Ofgem Price Cap.

I did have a link to EDF's full rate card but I cannot seem to find it at the moment.
Edit to add:
There is the EDF rate card, all suppliers will be pretty much the same as that, within a few fractions of pence for standard, though E7 varies significantly between suppliers and the methodology for calculating it is somewhat more complicated.

Just a note, FYI.
The EPG single rate equivalent for my quoted E7 DD tariff by E.ON Next and by EDF is 32.95p per kWh in each case, based on a 58% day 42% night split.0 -
I find it intriguing that Greenpeace have jumped on this National Grid bashing bandwagon.

Not that I disagree.
This is an article with a bit more substance, although less punchy.

UK energy firms lose high court challenge over handling of Bulb sale
Scottish Power, British Gas and E.ON alleged government’s decision-making process was ‘flawed’
Three major domestic energy suppliers have lost their high court challenge over the government’s handling of the sale of the collapsed energy firm Bulb.Scottish Power, British Gas and E.ON claimed an “unfair sale process” led to decisions “to commit billions of pounds of taxpayer money to facilitate the acquisition of a failed business” by the rival firm Octopus Energy.
The three businesses brought legal action against the government, alleging its decision-making process was “flawed and unlawful”.
However, in a ruling on Friday, Lord Justice Singh and Mr Justice Foxton rejected the legal challenge.
