@Deleted_User There is now a thread running on the board which hopefully will eventually get the various suppliers rate cards added - might be worth bookmarking that.

@RG2015 It was only confirmed this morning that the EPG would not be increasing.
Many thanks for your continued help. Now just to be a further pain, I have three more questions.

    1. Do you have a link for the thread you recommend bookmarking?

    2. Does the current rate per kWh remain unchanged as of 1 April 2023 now that the Government has extended their EPG to Q2?

    3. Does the Ofgem announced Q2 standing charge automatically apply from 1 April 2023.
    1.
    This one: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6432628/energy-supplier-default-tariff-rate-cards-for-april-2023#latest

    2. No - the expectation is that the unit rates will drop slightly to account for the higher Standing charges

    3. Yes, as far as I know!

Thanks. I’ve been on a fixed rate for two years so the small details are all new to me.

I suspect 75% of the population don't really know what's going on with Ofgem and the EPG. They probably just think they are being diddled somehow.

I’m an OCD number cruncher though. And really? 25% knowing what IS going on is a bit of a stretch!

For the new ofgem price cap, you can go to this page:
    https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/default-tariff-cap-level-1-april-2023-30-june-2023

Click on the "Default tariff cap level - letter".

The first table on page 6 has the regional prices based on 2900kWh electric and 12000kWh gas.

So Midlands is £1653 for electric, which is £0.57 per kWh including VAT
and Midlands is £1610 for gas, which is £0.13 per kWh including VAT

The default cap tariff levels - 1st subsidiary document from that link - will actually take you to another version - that annoyingly still uses 3100kWh for SR electric - but at least has the regional but annual nil kWh use - the regional standing charge data.

    /365 + vat = your actual SC - EPG doesn't change this.

Or there's this users SC and Unit summary - pulling govt and Ofgem together

I cannot get it to quote in my area. Based on current predictions and the "typical use" figures it looks like it would be around £150-160 more expensive than the SVT.
