There are 3 things you can safely predict:

    1. Death

    2. Taxes

    3. Flat roofs leak

The whole climate grift falls into category 2.
Precisely....our lot just want your money under the guise of being an electric car 'world leader' and heat pumps etc....ie manufacturing and jobs. Eighty private jets at Glasgow? 20+ car convoy too for one 'leader'.

When they start taking about population numbers someone let me know.
I read somewhere it was 85 cars!!!!!!!

China and Russia not at the Cop(out) 26, the worlds biggest polluters, just sayin..............
`i've heard this playground childish opinion too often.  "But Sir, he's doing turning the tap on and leaving it on, why can't I close the doors while half the class drowns?"  People need to grow up.

If some people do something, then fewer people will be affected more slowly.  Sure Bozo is doing it because it is politically sensible, and the Yanks are just so arrogant and just don't think.  Doesn't mean that the rest of us shouldn't at least make a decent effort.

I'm fully aware of that.  My point is that just because they aren't there (for political reasons), doesn't mean we should act like petulant children and do nothing.  Yet you think we should?  Those that think we should should stop being childish brats and grow a pair.

What makes you 'assume' I fall into the bracket of acting like a petulant child?

I merely pointed out the irony of 2 of the worlds biggest polluters are not at the 'emergency' climate summit, I have my own opinion on climate change in a modest way and I live in the hope that good people will do good things regarding it but I don't buy into the over inflated hysteria about it all that seems to currently be the favoured trend (by some)

Did you miss the question mark?  That makes it a question, not a statement.  Hence the opposite of an assumption.  Looks like you're the one assuming. ;)

    Are they?
Should "biggest polluters" be assessed in absolute terms or per-capita terms?
    Obviously, both are important.

    Semantics?

Just another reason to add to the many reasons I don't post here often, too many people who 'actually' believe their opinions mean something or just have some sort of 'need' to feed their inferiority complex?.

Opinions are just opinions, everybody has one, where as facts well that's a bit different isn't it and facts don't care about feelings.

It's only what I've got from Sky news and the BBC, so it MUST be correct.

Has anyone solved the child labour/lithium/cobalt mining conundrum yet?

Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

Oh god, this old nonsense spouted by people in pubs when electric cars are mentioned.
Firstly, less than 10% of cobalt mined is used in electric cars.
Secondly, the child labour 'thing' was restricted to the democratic republic of congo and car manufacturers stopped sourcing from there years ago, they source from other ethical sources.
BMW and Tesla, for example, openly state they buy from Morocco and Australia.
And completely cobalt-free batteries are very close.
