Jules, so sorry to hear about your news. take care of yourselves. Bails, it's not my birthday till Wednesday but i haven't really celebrated my birthday for a few years for no apparent reason so i'm pushing the boat out this year - and it isn't even my 30th!

LL, I didn't fancy a class so i opted for the SW online function - Bodyoptimise. I put my mid to it, stuck to it and used this as my support and shifted 9kg. Alas, i lost my focus, abandoned both and it went back on. Bo have I learned my lesson. It may be worth a try for a couple of months to see how you get on.

Ajax - rofling at that 'shared resource' crack. But to paraphrase dodgeball, the very thought made me do a bit of sick in my mouth. ewwww. Also laughing at your sig at the mo, being a re-enactor . . . I know people who've done re-enactments of the miners strike for telly so we could probably manage that one. In fact, at one memorable week long event we did a different re-enactment in the beer tent every night - starting with Agincourt and going through Waterloo, the charge of the heavy brigade, trafalgar and the climax being Midway. That was a challenge! off for champagne now see you tomorrow!!

    xx

.....if your bosses were Nigella and Brad Pitt you wouldn't be saying that. ;)

If you asked Suggs nicely he may be able to rip up some Kenilworth Road seats for you to aid your re-eneactment :)
  • Wow! Everyone must have been *really* chatty, got loads to catch up on...

Right... Got back to uni last night... Never thought I'd ever say this, but it was so nice to go out and do my own shopping this morning, and pick up all my fruit/veg etc... Got the fridge full of nice healthy foods and not-too-naughty snacks... Also took advantage of a couple of offers on WW goodies that were on, so got some of the crisps and cookies to snack on thru the week at uni... Speaking of which, I've got loads of work to do before my tutorial on Tuesday! It's been impossible to get anything done at home, everytime I've disappeared upstairs to work someones needed me for something!! On the brightside... Avenue Q was fab!

Vix, I hope you're working hard... I haven't got any suggestions for the answers to all those questions, besides, I'm not doing your homework as well as mine! :p Keep at it hun, I've got another 2 and a half years to go yet, *and* came back into it late (didn't start til I was 21), so yeah, I know what you mean about not entirely wanting to still be in a classroom... Its frustrating, but it'll be worth it! And the sooner Galaxy starting making really small bars, the better ;)

Height aside, Suggs, you'd be absolutely no use at all as an S in the front row! Well, unless you're considering a move to hooker... But that's a completely different line of conversation!

LilacLillie, I've not been going to a class or meeting for the first part of this - I've lost 10lbs since the start of November. There's lots of support on here, but as for whether meetings are worth it or not, I guess it depends on how you want to do it. I'm starting at WW on Tuesday, purely cos I feel like I need a kick up the ****, and standing in front of someone else when I get on those scales is often enough to almost guilt me into eating properly! If you are thinking of starting somewhere, check their websites - there's lots of free registration vouchers around at the mo!

Oh, and for all the snacking thats being discussed.. My current favourites are jelly (sugar free of course) and rainbow drops. Anyone else remember those? Bags full of brightly coloured puffed rice and maize. And, according to the back of the packet, the huge 80gm bags are 215 calories and 0.9gm fat. A bag normally lasts me a whole film plus a few leftover ;)
**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**

I have joined up...figure I will keep four things on the go to help me keep track of things as I like elements of all of them :p

Tesco Tracker - I like that I can quite easily work out a calories a day guesstimate
Fitlinxx gym program - tells me how many cals I burn off in my sessions
Times online thingy - has actually made me consider my goal weight and put it in context of the time I have left (forced me to put a date on it ) (I can use the other two programs to roughly update this as well)
This Thread - for where would we all be without it !?!?

thanks Suggs. Its worth signing up just to get the free pedometer.

Just checked my ebay watch list & so far it doesn't look like i'm gonna get anything. Can you believe the WW starter pack that was 99p yesterday is now at nearly £24 with a coupla hours left on it. people are blooming mental to pay that kinda price.

I did get the hip hop 2 workout dvd in a charity shop for £1 the other day & a pilates video for £1.55 today in a different charity shop so they will keep me busy for a little while.

I suddenly remembered this morning that my next door neighbour is 50 today & has invited us to a party at the football club tonight so had to rush out & get a card & bottle of wine for her this afternoon. Now gotta get a move on & get me & my DD ready while my OH sits on his bum with a fag in his mouth with nothing better to do like help me get a wriggly 2 year old bathed & into a party dress.

    See you all later xx
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

......it's awful that your OH isn't doing anything, he should be ashamed of himself!!!!! The Villa/Man U game is on, he should be watching that and drinking a beer.
