Hi guys,:santa2:
My gp prescribed my Reductil last week and the surgery offers no support so I thought that joining you would be great for me.
I think I would like to try the 2lb a week club will pm Brighton Belle.
Funny old time of year to start but no time is good is it, we can always find a reason not to diet.
I am 19st 5lb at the mo and need to try and lose at least 6 stone of this. Although this will still make me over weight I am trying to get to the weight I last rememeber feeling normal!
I think that I have been maintaining for about 5 weeks which is why the gp prescribed for me. I am hoping she will prescribe the gym for me in the new year - I have to have lost something though!

Delly! First of all, withholding information that's personal to you is NOT the same as not being "entirely honest". It is completely up to you when/if and how much information you share. I hope that telling us what you did is something you wanted to do at this point, rather than something you felt you had to do.
I bet there isn't a single person on here (or at least those of us who've been trying to lose weight for several months or more) who can't relate to you in some way. Disappointing results, everything slowing down around the next stone "barrier", feeling the need to change routines, do something different, trying to give it that extra push. I bet you are not the only one who has tried some form of medicinal/tablet help too.
I'm glad you went to your GP to get this help, rather than googling 'weight loss pills' and buying the first thing you found. Obviously a sensible person like you wouldn't do that, but who knows what others in your position would do.
As you say, this isn't some kind of wonder drug and I hope everyone will understand that all the major effort is still coming from you. As far as I'm concerned your weight losses are just as valid and deserve to be congratulated as much as any others. We are here to support each other and not to judge! (Not that anyone is in a position to judge someone they only know through a forum).
I'm really sorry there was an error at weigh in and you haven't lost what you thought you had, please please try to put this behind you as quick as you can. These things happen unfortunately. At least there have been no gains and that's something to be very pleased about. Maybe you can get to exactly 16 stone for Christmas or New Year's Day which would still be GREAT!
I think because losing weight can require such massive personal effort, some people (and I include myself in this for DEFINITE) can slightly lose perspective for a brief time occasionally, a small gain can seem like a disaster and so can a small loss if you feel your efforts deserved more. But in the scheme of things what is 1-2lb on & off here and there, when we have so much else to be thankful for?
I hope you are feeling more positive this morning and you can see that people are replying with messages of support! I also hope everything I've written in this reply sounds OK because I know sometimes things don't come over exactly as we mean them. Good luck Delly0 -
Well said MissyG!
Cheer up Delly...we're all behind you 110%....0 -
Hi Hermoine, welcome! I think any time is a great time to start, and especially now!
Oh, and apparently this jelly really is 8 cals a 140ml serving! I haven't tried it yet though!0 -
Morning all, I had to open the thread twice so I can reply as I go along or I'll forget everything!
Grannynise, I'm with you, there is no replacement for chocolate, although there's no way I could have that bag in the wardrobe and not eat the lot!
Welcome to Lovely-cup-of-tea, Hermoine and l21ynz, great to have you with us! You'll find loads of lovely peeps and support on here so keep posting regularly.
Froggy girl, I love your sig too - I've seen it on another thread (maybe PB?) and every time it makes me laugh. I like yours too LCOT, very true!
Delly, your post made me cry. Please don't ever, ever feel that you need to apologise to us, or for being brave enough to tackle your weight in the best way for you. Food addiction is a scary illness and I am only happy that you feel the tablets are helping you start to get to grips with things. We each have a personal journey to go on and we are all here to support each other in whatever way is best. As for the scales, I believe it is possible that they read differently, so perhaps you did lose that weight last week as you thought. Any change, such as your change of class, needs to be taken with allowances for a little upheaval and inconsistency so don't write off that loss for last week, even though the scales tell you otherwise; it's not an exact science. As for your loss this week, despite the meals out, you have obviously burned more calories than you've taken in so well done! You're right not to stick to your mini target - I understand it's a little disappointing but it will come, if a tiny wee bit later. Thankyou for telling us, it must've been hard, although there was no need. We love you Delly! xxx
Missy, what a great post, thanks!
I have lost 3.5 lbs this week, but some of that is what I gained last week. (That's 10 llbs total BB). I am great with that, despite having struggled over the past couple of weeks - a spell with my diary helped release what was upsetting my eating, namely the build-up of sheer bl%%dy frustration at my situation. I'm sure you can all relate to that! Letting it out in words just meant I could stop swallowing it through food. Now I'd just like to stay around this mark til Christmas and have that little bit of leeway.
I am taking it easy, as ordered to by Dr. PetI have stopped school til after Christmas now so I can recover properly without worrying and so have freed up my entire week from everything to focus on me! Not too much navel gazing though, don't have the energy for it :rotfl:
Well done to everyone this week, some great losses at a difficult time of year:T:T Thanks in advance for the chart BB xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Dellybelly, firstly try not to worry, secondly I can only echo what missyg was written, I started reading the thread this morning, then while going to buy some milk, I was thinking of writing two things, one of which was along the lines of missyg post, but I would have gone further and said I bet not one person that has been here for a number of months has not
a Considered reducutil or the other one.
b Considered another drastic measure (mine was ex-lax, long story!)
c Done something else to make sure the weight loss maintians or carrys on. Me and daily weighing for example and I know Im not the only one
We are all doing a fantasic job and everynow and then we all need a little help, as everybody if different, the that form of help takes many many forms. I know people that take a weekend off the healthy eating, some treat themselves, I see a dietcian. SO no shame on it delly, if anything well done you for recognising the problem, and doing something about it. I applaud you and your resolve :T In actual fact I would like to know how you get on with it.
Well done efrieze :j
Anyway, enough about you, lets talk about me
No weighin today that I wish to publicy let on about, as I mentioned I am daily weighing and graphing it all as my rugby playing seems to be causing problems, as in every single week following a rugby match, by the Monday I seem to have gained weight, I then spend Monday and Tuesday trying to lose weight even more. Now I know I shouldn't weigh every day, but I had noticed a difference when I weighed Tuesday compared to Wednesdays. Anyway the upshot is I am moving the weigh day to the most logical place which is Friday morning

Hi all
sorry i havent posted for a while, no excuse really apart from being busy with xmas etc etc! - oh - and going to the gym of course!
I am really chuffed today, been to the gp for a check and he says i am a real star! - made his day!!
I am fit to burst so let me tell you all why.
I went to see him last January when he found that bp was up and my cholesterol was 6 ( normal 3.5 to 5.2) my glucose was raised too and my weight was - ahem- lets say 3 stone overweight. He looked over the top of his glasses at me and said " lifestyle changes" - so i did!
Easier than i thought i changed my diet to healthy eating etc and took more exercise. ( having a daft dog helps there!)
Anyway, about 2 months ago i went back for a bp check and he referred me to the gym where you get 20 sessions and advice for a reduced price. Half way through you are assessed and i was told that i had above average fitness for a fifty yr old!
Having lost two of my three stones i returned for a check blood test last week and went back for a review today.
My cholesterol is down from 6 to 4.6 and my glucose is down too!! I am so chuffed i want to tell everybody!
He also commented that i looked very well and much happier with life which is true. I did say that i wanted to lose more as according to the BMI charts I am overweight but he said I looked fine!
My 20 sessions at the gym finish in a week or so and I now have the bug and am going to go regularly. To everyone that would like to go but is emarrassed or worried - dont be - there are all shapes and sizes there and if i can do it so can you!
Happy christmas everyone!0 -
Congratulations Wilroda, that's really fantastic news! It's great you've got the gym bug, it can be a lot of fun if you approach it the right way! Good luck with the last stone. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
