l21ynz & vix - Brighton Belle is looking after the chart until after Christmas. If you ask very nicely (and possibly in purple text), I'm sure that she'll add you onto the chart.
Grrrr, I'm so cross and upset today:mad: . I have to give up my SOTW title from last week. As you may remember, I changed from a Monday night class to a Tuesday night class. Last week I thought I'd lost 2lbs (well, that's what I was told.) Tonight my new WW leader said, "1.5lbs off, first stone well done", I was like "no, that was last week?" She says, "no, look at the scales" sure enough I am this week, the weight I thought I was last week. Stupid mare read the scales wrong last week - with a digital read out I don't know how she did it, unless my old WW leader's scales weigh lighter than hers - but how can that be possible when they're supposed to be calibrated on a 4 weekly basis!
Now whilst I do realise that I've lost and I'm pleased about it (in a roundabout way!), I'm actually 1.5lbs heavier than I thought I was, so bang goes my next mini target happening before Christmas. I'm currently 16st 2.5 (thought it would be 16st 1 this week) and had hoped to be 15 st something for next week but just think that going for a 3lbs+ loss in one week is too ambitious, especially before christmas.
The worst thing is - I haven't been entirely honest with you all. I've talked it over with bb and decided to 'fess up. I got fed up struggling so hard to lose weight and went to my Gp 3 weeks ago and asked for Reductil. It is a weightloss drug which helps combat cravings and makes you feel more satisfied but you still have to follow a healthy eating plan to ensure weightloss. I have been counting my points still but have found the last 3 weeks to be much easier to stay within my points. It does have quite a few side effects and I have to be monitored quite closely by my GP practise for the next 3 months but I feel like the chains of my food addiction are being broken since I've been on the tablets.
I did really well for the first week (2lbs off) and found I was a changed person with so much more energy and felt really relieved to be eating like a normal person. I totally expected to lose 2lbs last week too, as I was VERY well behaved (remember the most successful Sunday lunch I've ever had with my mother!). It's part of the reason why I'm so disappointed to find out that my 2lbs last week was only 1/2 a lb instead. This week, I didn't deserve to lose weight as I've had 4 meals out this weekend and yet, here I am with 1.5lbs off.
I hope you guys aren't too upset with me for not telling you earlier, I really admire everyone who's really been struggling with temptation and still succeeding with no extra help. I just felt I wasn't getting anywhere and needed the extra help. I don't intend to be on these tablets for a long period of time, but intended to use them to keep me on the straight and narrow over the next few months.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Delly, if it's something you feel you need for now, and is helping you, I'm sure no one here is going to be upset with you! Hope it helps you achieve what you want to
Hey to both new comers (sorry, keep forgetting names tonight - been out for a few drinks - its not helping my memory!!)
And the reason I came on tonight... VERY pleased to report 4lbs off for me this week!! Haven't got a clue where it's going, but I'm not complaining! May still hit my target of first stone gone by Christmas at this rate!**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -

Delly - you have nothing to feel upset about. If you need the help, at least you are getting it and getting it from the right source - your GP. It is obviously working for you - so go with it and stop feeling guilty!:j
I for one have often thought about asking for help from my doctor and I will be very interested in hearing how you get on with the tablets.:D
Best of luck!
All the best

1.5 lbs off this week -- I'm really pleased with that.
Delly ... well done to you for identifying a solution to help you. Isn't that what this is all about? It doesn't matter WHAT we do to solve our problems, it's just the fact that we're working on them that counts and taking control of our lives in whatever way suits us best at that moment.I really admire everyone who's really been struggling with temptation and still succeeding with no extra help
Delly, no one on here struggles with no extra help .... for some of us the thread is extra help enough at the moment, for others it's clubs, for others it's really supportive partners or friends, for others it's support from GPs. You've chosen a different extra help that's all. And we'll all be fascinated to hear how it goes.
Love from Granny xxxxx to Delly0 -

I hope that it works for you :j We had a WW leader whose way of checking her scales was to stand on, fiddle about with something if necessary, then say 'they're about right' :rotfl:- it's perfectly true!!...

Morning all.
I agree with the others, dellybelly, no-one is cross with you and you should do whatever helps you. One thing i woudl say is that the only person I know who got help from the GP to lose weight, hoped it was going to be a magic solution. And when the weight did not fall off her, she got disappointed and gave up. So try to be realistic with what the Reductil can help you achieve - and don't expect miracles because slow and steady does the trick!e
I have a 1lb loss to report this week please brighton belle. Happy enough with that.0 -
