I was just sent this on my e-mail and had to share: Enjoy!

    A Poem for January

'Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The stuffing I'd nibbled, the turkey I'd taste
The yummies I'd eaten gone straight to my waist.
The wine and the mince pies,
    The bread and the cheese
I should have just said, "No thank you, please."
So as I dressed myself in my hubby's old shirt,
I couldn't believe my bottom - the girth!
I said to myself, as only I can,
"You can't spend the year disguised as a man!"
So away with the last of the sour-cream dip,
Get rid of the fruitcake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Til all the additional ounces have vanished.
    I won't have a cookie, not even a lick.
Instead I'll chew on a celery stick.
I won't have Irish coffees, or chocolates, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry:
"I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore-
But isn't that what January's for?"
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot,
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

  • Oops! Been in hiding over Xmas due to a fondness for anything covered in chocolate. But back on the wagon so to speak again now. Weighed myself on Sunday at 13st 5lb (eek!) but already down to 13st 3 when I weighed self again today (yeah!).

Am having a go at the diet that came in this months Prima magazine. I am fussy over food but my challenge for 2008 is to try new cullinary delights, so far it's not tasting too bad.

So please pop me back on the chart next week and I promise to try really hard this time. Cheers x x

Sounds a nice bra pet, i would have been drawn to that aswell. Like i am when i go to BHS and see miffy underwear! I just hope you were fitted into the bra, because that would be -5 points overall :p +2 for it being in the sale though! Im 5'3 also, i think there are quite a few of us midgets about! Thanks for the avatar tip, i never knew that!...quote]

Ha! Yes it was BHS:j I was just passing through, short cut to the car park, and totally off the peg, DD spotted it and FORCED me to buy it;) honestly!!! I still haven't tried it on, but MrP has now seen it and wants to know the crack ;) men!! :rotfl: ...

  • And finally, Pet, we've seen your pic, and despite your trying to hide behind a wine glass we all think you look great. not skinny, but slim and healthy. perfect in fact!..[/quote

...Thanks kpc BUT that pic was taken July 2005 (and I never showed the full pic because of the bosoms :o ) after which I gained about another 2 st, I don't have a later pic at the biggest size that I eventually was (no wine glass big enough :rotfl: and I own the camera ;) )...

  • Hi everyone!

Well, having been nosey for the last few days and suscribing to the thread I thought I might join in, sounds like a fun place to be.

I'm 24, nearly 25!! (isn't it weird how the years slide by), anyway back on topic, I'm currently just slightly over 12 stone and looking to reduce this. I got down to about 11 stone 3lbs a couple of years ago when I was starting a new job but have always been a bit tubby and I'm only 5 foot 8, although I was convinced I was at least 5 foot 11 for many years :)

I can be quite lazy sometimes and do have a sweet tooth, but I'm making an effort to get healthy. Its hard work to keep down the calories, I've been re-reading my old Men's Health and Men's Fitness magazines too, and I'm hoping that being on here will help me keep up the motivation!

I've always been quite sporty, however of late I've mainly been watching from the sofa with a beer! I've just started to do something about that though, been down to the gym most days this week, also been in the pool and played a bit of badminton too. I've had quite a bit of time off from work, but I'm back to it tomorrow, so just really hoping I can keep making the effort to get myself in shape.

Take care people, thanks for reading, speak to you soon. :D
on a money saving mission! :p

    ..........I knowwwwwwwww .... ding dong!

Aww, I don't think I've ever been "ding donged" (why does it sound so wrong). Thanks.

If anyone wants tips on taking a flattering piccie... use a crappy camera phone on just your face and turn the brightness on full (it hides the double chin, spots, everything).

But I don't think this counts as a money saving tip to avoid an expensive photo shoot and makeover.
Please continue to hold the line. Your call is very important to us and will be answered by next available robot...
  • lol, good tip hanna!

Got a new copy of the lush times today - any other lush fans? Some great news - they are doing easter eggs this year so you can have a guilt free easter! How great is that? I have put the article on top of OH's computer so he can see it - the egg bit is a bath ballistic and inside is a soap and a bath melt. Alas, not on their website yet but definitely worth the heads up.

Morning peeps:D Talking about bras, mine also came from BHS in the sale £7 but I did not realise it was a push up bra, so bnus, now they are where they are supposed to be and people keep noticing now they are not trailing around the floor:rotfl: :rotfl:

My H walked past me last night and said 'lovely bum you have' thank you I said just like a 20 year old? I asked ' Now let's not get carried away now' he replied:rotfl: cheek:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Welcome to the newbies:D
