hi Brambling
please can I set a 12 lb target for this quarter,
thank you4 -
I will also let you stand of the scales naked which I understand is frowned upon at WW and SWjennystarpepper said:
Why get weighed and then have the stress? Best things about this group, don't get weighed if you don't want too and no paying if you miss a week... I for one hate getting on the scales at a club, at least with 'bramblings' gang you don't have to think about which are my skinny clothes for club and have I been to the loo.ditty1234 said:Hi Just dropping by to say that my greatest achievements was to eat vegetables yesterday, and decided to not weigh in this week. I also managed to swim Tuesday night, but the running is still lacking. It's so bad I am scared to join group runs. Hoping to make a fresh start over half term. So am starting a 10x5k to do over the next 10 days (or a couple of extra day if need be). And then i'll weigh in!

Ditty weight in when you're ready or not at all as Jenny said its not a issue here, we would miss you if you stop posting but no need to stress about the scales until you are ready
Jenny you reminded me I have SF jelly in the fridge so I made up a batch this morning with some frozen berries in and had a bowl after my soup lunch time
Monna well done on the 2lbs
I could have written your post (well not the being in my 80s bit
) I was nearly a 10lb baby and never really slimmed down to what others considered 'normal' I've said it before that I wish i was the weight I was at 16 when I believed I was fat. One of my eldest sisters thought she was doing me a favour putting me on a diet at 13 but she was really setting me on the same path as her and a life time diets (sorry healthy eating )
Thanks Sue I'll update the chart
Have a good weekend everyoneLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
Brambling, I believe that in the 30s fat babies were considered to be admirable. Dammit!
Sadly, I've always loved cooking. Not very useful when you put on a couple of pounds just for breathing too deeply.
Anyway, one dear man that I once knew, told me that I was not fat, I was 'plumptious'. Now, doesn't that sound better?I believe that friends are quiet angels

By the 60s doctors were beginning to frown on chubby babies
my mother was probably a similar age to yours my 4 eldest siblings were born in the 40s and the one professional photograph my mother had of any of us was one of my sisters about 10 months old naked on her front lying on a fur rug with a lot of rolls of baby fat. It was the one that came out at both her weddings 😁 and my mother's favourite picture of any of her daughters 🙄
I love to cook and got the feeder gene from my mum no one was allowed to leave her house without having eaten something so she would have loved that after her wake we stood at the door making people take plates of leftovers, her daughters and granddaughters all inherited the feeder gene and the inability to cook just enough, we always cater 'just in case' 😁
I was once told that the advantage of being plump was it filled out the wrinkles and made us look younger, I think I prefer plumptious (and not the plump tiles my tiles wanted to say)Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4 -

Jenny, I'm not sure that the Oxford dictionary would be interested, but it certainly cheered me up at the time, and many times since.I believe that friends are quiet angels

The OH has lovingly said I am reminiscent of the Venus of Willendorf. I've even been give two different pendants of her!monnagran said:Anyway, one dear man that I once knew, told me that I was not fat, I was 'plumptious'. Now, doesn't that sound better?

Ah. So what we are all really doing, is reverting to our Paleolithic selves.
So?

If you are happy and healthy then there's nothing the matter with it at all!! I am currently a tad too Paleolithic so need to slim for the sake of my blood pressure. OH still thinks I'm nice and huggable so that's fine.monnagran said:Ah. So what we are all really doing, is reverting to our Paleolithic selves.
