Lol, you have listed all of the things (or most) of what I have to avoid to keep my weight down... toast, marg. and cereal, especially the cereal as I'm always starving within an hour of eating it.....
Perhaps quark will work?
I try to avoid anything that needs butter, (oh I do love me a big fat blob of Lurpak). I try to avoid all bread as I do not lose if I eat it, I have a love hate relationship with it. I try and have an Alpen light bar and fruit for breakfast (which is cereal, but does not make me as hungry). I usually have a packet of Melba toast as a bread alternative.

I'll be joining you shortly...
I've been binging like nothing on earth. Today I did get the Blood Sugar Diet books out (hereafter BSD) and made a list of meals and a shopping list.
I ate a whole tray of brownies I cooked yesterday (complete with dried dates and glace cherries) plus toad in the hole and roast veg. I just cannot get to grips with it.5 -
I appear to be down a pound! Not quite sure how other than trying to have rye flakes for breakfast most days.
For those not familiar it's like oatmeal except made from rye seeds rather than oat ones. There's a LOT of fibre on it which is supposed to be good for one plus gives it a nuttier taste. I've had it cooked like porridge (rye and milk in a travel pot the night before ready to take to work to nuke) or also as birchler muesli (rye, milk, yoghurt, fruit in travel pot the night before but not nuked in the morning). For those that don't like/eat milk you could of course use water or apple juice.
My biggest problem with it is that it's "rye". And to me "rye" is a type of whiskey and the thought of whiskey for breakfast is a bit bleugh!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Morning all, I'm checking in with a 1lb loss this week, despite a few wobbly days.
I'm now heading into a fortnight of having something happening every day that would usually make me justify snacks and drinks so if you don't hear from me again I've skulked off in shame! I'll keep up with the water drinking and getting a decent amount of steps done each day and try not to go too off the rails. We'll see how it goes.
I bought some popcorn kernels after the recommendation about making them in the microwave and then adding your own things rather than buying big bags of over sugared things, but as yet I've been too scared to try cooking them - I'm convinced I'll blow up the microwave somehow!
Have a good week everyone!7 -
An STS for me, my eating was positively shambolic this week.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Frith from quarter 2 we know once you get focus o. The BDS diet you are a women on a mission, good luck with this challenge
Brie I'm not sure how your brain works with link from rye to whiskey 😁 I haven't had rye flakes before I may look them up as a change from oats.
Lilac I haven't set fire to the kitchen yet making popcorn 😁 not killed the microwave. I will way don't think cling is a good alternative to a lidi use a lidded Pyrex casserole dish ( not too big) and add a single layer to the bottom, not too many to start, put the lid on and ping in stages I usually do 2 minutes and then shake then repeat. I find I rarely need to go to 6 minutes but some kernels won't pop but you don't want them to burn. My casserole dish is a old glass one so I can see what is happening as well as near it
Short_bird I'm also having a shambolic week, far too much food / rubbish is being eaten 😐. Have a good weekLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4 -

@Brambling

It's because I'm Canadian and Canadian whiskey is made in part with rye and has always been referred to as "rye" when you order a drink. As in "I'll have a rye and soda".
Also it occurred to me that the porridge made with rye flakes isn't that dissimilar to really brown rice. Hope that doesn't put you off!!
not killed the microwave.
And I have killed my microwave this week but it has nothing to do with popcorn! I've an air popper for that!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I’ve put on 1.5lbs this week.I’ve had a bad cold and I’ve been eating comfort food like the U.K. is going to run out of chocolate, apples, persimmon, and bags of popcorn. (I love fruit)My internal voice tells me it’s just fluid as all my glands in my face and neck are huge, but I know I’ve not stuck to any diet this week, and I’ve been sucking full sugar sweets at work to stop me coughing. (Can’t eat full sugar free ones as They give me wind and the running trots).
Hopefully I can regain some self control.
You are all doing so well..
Brie, rice porridge isn’t too bad. I add a small spoon of sultanas to mine when making it, then no other sweetener. I also make quinoa porridge at times. Boiled buckwheat is also quite nice. Before I discovered that I can’t have gluten or oats in any form or quantity I experimented with rye and barley flakes… they’re nice but worse (and more instant) than sugar free sweets.6
