  • You sound like you're doing a fab job with changing habits hotdog! One thing at a time is the way I do it when trying to incorporate new habits. I find it overwhelming and set myself up for failure if I go full throttle and change too much too quickly.
Hope you have a good day today 😊

Thanks For the comment, I will keep that in mind, I am trying to not change too much, equally if I don't make the right changes I won't have lost any weight. However I should lose something if I can stop eating garage snacks and go swimming most days. 😊🏋️‍♀️😊❤️👌

Today is 2/15 No spend days, I am pleased with that, it did take a bit of thought today steering myself away from buying snacks, I do need to have some snacks in and I do not at this time, I have used them all up not choc crisps etc, but I had some ice creams and nutrigrains, just a couple each day better then garage snacks, but now I am fresh out so may need to spend tomorrow to get something in that will work, without eating all at once and without being heavily caloried. Actually thinking about it I could have toast and jam - yes that will do - also I haven't had marmite in ages, I fancy some, and I have some!!

    Mission tomorrow:-

    1) Meet sist and her fiance after work to swim.

    2) No Garage snacks.

    3) No Take out.

    4) Do some housework.
I remember a lady at our SW club being disheartened with her weight loss journey as she didn't lose very much each week. But I remember more another lady saying, how long did you take to put on all that weight? It certainly wasn't overnight. It wasn't even over one year...same as me...so it's not going to disappear overnight or even in one year. Slow and steady and it will come off. She was very wise and had been going years and always said the right thing...I think we were all listening, even though it was advice for someone else we could all relate. Mine was baby weight mostly but I'd also picked up bad habits so I had to change them...her advice to me was given up one thing at a time which I still stick to.

Hope you enjoy your swim it certainly sounds like it's making you happy which is great!

    Absolutely brilliant about the swimming!
  • 18 lengths is not to be sniffed at!
I can't even do half of that without feeling exhausted.
    I think you're doing a fabulous job @HotDog2020 💪😊

If you've ordered cake how about portioning it off and freezing it in portions? So you can indulge but only on a limited amount?

I have bought my DD a birthday cake for Monday but DP & I don't eat it so we are going to cut it all into Portions once she's had her bit & DS has had some and then freeze the rest. Considering you've done so well on staying away from treats all week I do think you deserve a treat day 😁❤️👏

  • I've been on a sugar free kick because of a skin rash that g00gle said could be candida (under my arm started as shaving rash!) it also said it could be lots of other things tbf  but I thought let's dry a detox see if it helps. SO I have been making sugar free snacks such as protein balls (dates blended up with a splash of water, coconut and orange oil) and lots of fruit, humus and dips and things like twiglets rather than my usual sugary biscuits or small choc bars etc. Have a g00gle perhaps there are some new things you could try that you might like that won't affect diabetes.

  • Don't worry hotdog you have been very good on other days, just write it off as a bit of a hiccup and move on from it otherwise you will be tempted to just say F it and carry on down the route of self-sabotage. Hope today is a good day for you.
