  • Love all the plans. I wrapped presents for myself the first year my exH and I split. It was the first year in twenty years I was happy on Xmas day. And I loved my presents 😂🙈 so no, not silly, fun and a good way to make sure you get what you want! Hope you sort the money thing out with your mum. That sounds a bit stressful and I'd want that to be sorted too if it were me.

Thank you All. I need some time spent on chores today, I have put them off for too long !! Also I am a little stressed out by parents home situation. But I won't discuss that any further. Today I want to firstly sort flat out, so a list:-

    1) Organise and tidy ready for hoovering
    2) Hoover
    3) Mop Floors...

If I get these three items sorted I will deserve a rest and reconfigure what I want to do next like put up the Christmas tree and decks. Step one cross off the list and then reconfigure.

Done wahoo! I am so glad it really an effort to motivate myself, especially when I feel a little down. Anyhow on to the next tasks once I have finished these biccies!!

    4) Clean kitchen door.
    5) clean cupboard and sort the two cupboards contents.
    6) wash up and put washing away.

I am procrastinating on the last job, just one more boring job before the fun of the tree going up starts, go hotdog!
muhh it really is not on my want to do list!

Okay I am part way through the cupboard clean up, I am letting it dry naturally. Next the fun list:-

    7) Put up tree
    8) put presents under the tree

I am not over keen on my decorations and it is such a chore to get them out and put them back again, the tree is simple, so just that this time. With the wrapped presents it will still look good.

That was the quickest Christmas effort ever, next mission is the baking. I don't know whether I should do it today or save it for tomorrow I have a few selections I want to bake, firstly Mince pies, I have quite a few ingredients to make a couple of batches, also Biscotti was something I wanted to bake, but my mulled wine does not arrive until Monday evening, so I feel I should wait until Monday for the Mince pies and maybe the biscotti too. So that's Mondays activities sorted, Big bakathon.

I need to update my shopping list again, I forgot to add something and I want to check that I am happy with what I selected. Also I need to think of something fun to do tomorrow, I could search for my Christmas colouring book and give it a go, Okay so that is something good to do, I will prepare these things now.

    O.A.O.

Today all is calm at my home and parents home, everything good. I have decided to do that bit of baking over two days. First I am going to make biscotti today, then tomorrow I am going to make mince pies on Monday, then on Christmas eve I am going to spend it with Parents we'll have mince pies and biscotti to munch on and exchange gifts, may be play a game of yahtzee or something. When I get back from parents I am going to watch polar express with mulled wine and mince pies.

Chritsmas day I will cook a feast and have a special traditional breakfast of Bucks fizz and croissants. The cooking will keep me occupied for most of the day. Then I will watch some Christmas films and relax. I am really looking forward to it.

    Okay so missions for today:-

    1) Lunch
    2) make biscotti
    3) tidy and clean up
    4) try a biscotti with a warm cup of festive tea!

Obviously it is going to be a real hardship following the above list !! 😂😂😂

    O.A.O.
  • Evening Hotdog, checking in to see how the baking went and if you have found some good online excel tutorials? Do you get a handover at the proposed role or are you going in with a blank page?

    Hi Chieveley,

Thank you for dropping by, I did make the biscotti - I am calling them giant Biscotti ornage flavoured with chocolate pieces. I did do a tutorial on pivot tables, but I think I need a break so I think I will revisit in the new year sometime. I will be trained but it is a new role/ or work over flow for temporary basis...potential to extend, not sure if it will go perm, but they didn't mention it.

Chievely I am finishing on MSE this year. Thank you for your passing messages. I hope you have a good Chritsmas and New Year. All the best. HotdogXX

Hi Guys, I found these messages today @Chieveley @Myranna and @Egoberry I had given my diary title to an outsider as evidence to my intent. However I realised I wanted my annonymity again hence I started another diary with a new alias. Thanks for your messages, you have cheered me. If you would like to know my new diary please DM me, but otherwise I will update you here.

I did get a job at the end of last year and I started it, however I was micromanaged by the top manager plus there was a lot of stress however they did say that I had a done a good job, so I came away and I am now looking for another job. In retrospect I may have rushed out there a bit too fast, my track record for leaving places is not very good, however If I was allowed to get on with the job I would have been okay, I have a few irons in the fire so to speak and I am hoping for a call any day now, I have made 97 applications since mid feb.

I think part of the problem is that I was spoilt a little bit in the last job because it was fully remote, I have been trying to get that again. Anyhow I may very well get it, as I have a few applications and some even have shown interest for remote work. I have also now got a lodger, and it seems to be going okay for a change, I thought I couldn't do it, but he is very sweet natured and full on busy with work so there is little time to bump into him.

So although I can't get any of my financial plans off the ground I am actually doing okay what with the rent and I should get UC next month (not this month) if I am still out of work will help pay towards food etc. Which is more then a lot of people can say so I count myself as although plans are not forming or coming together I am actually in a good position for someone who doesn't have a job, obviously the main aim is to get a job.

I have also started redecorating the hallway, so far I have done the hall ceiling and I haven't done a bad job either, then the next task will be to start sanding the wood. Having a project like this helps with keeping a bit active and feeling like I have accomplished something, it is keeping me going. Although I only decided this yesterday...oooh I just remember I have another project that is cross stitch, I was getting bored and felt like I needed to do some type of activity and decided I enjoyed cross stitch so I have one big project which will be for hanging up (If it is any good) and a smaller project that is a birthday for dear old Ma, she has a big one this year.
