  • Well I'll be jiggered.  I just popped up to see a friend and when I got back DS and DH are looking at DH's golf clubs - next thing DH has given DS his set of golf clubs complete with bag!  We haven't played golf for years and DS said he was thinking of playing so DS said he could have his clubs.  So, DS can't have my jacket which cost about £25 but he can have a set of golf clubs which cost a couple of hundred?  Go figure as they say in the films!  I'm glad as some decluttering has been done :)
I hope you made your point and sent the coat too? MrWW’s annoying trait is freaking out, loudly, about any accident. I spill something, the pets knock something over, he breaks something…it’s all a huge fuss over something that couldn’t be helped…drives me potty! Any loud crash is followed by MrWW yelling and racing to ground zero so he can have a good rant 😅

So glad I'm not the only one with a ranting other half

Sadly he hasn't got space to take the other coat - I've packed him up with loads of leftover foods instead!  Next time he comes he will take the coat.

A bit of a lazy day today.  We need to drop DS to the station early afternoon so I’m making sausage casserole in the slow cooker ready for us to eat when we get back.  We’ll have it with potato and carrot mash.

Breakfast was porridge with banana and lunch was yet more leftovers!  They have almost gone now.

Starting the New Year with an NSD.

I’ve started knitting a Norwegian jumper from the knitting book DS gave me for Christmas, it involves a technique called steek stitches which I have never heard of.  Thank goodness for YouTube is all I can say.  So I’ll be attempting that a bit later once I completed the body and second sleeve.

Lovely and sunny today so we took the opportunity to go out.  I bought some compost as I want to start some veggies in the greenhouse.

We treated ourselves to lunch at the garden centre.

For supper we’ve just had some cheese and biscuits.

Weather nasty today, very dark and overcast and constant drizzle/rain.

This morning I tidied up my craft room and also tidied up a corner of the dining room which had lots of stuff dumped in it.  I also started to unravel a jumper I knitted a few months ago, I didn’t like it once it was knitted so I can re-use the wool on another jumper.

This afternoon I visited my friend for our sewing and gossip session.  We haven’t met up for sewing since early December, although we have socialised over Christmas, but it was nice to get back into the routine.

Brunch was bubble and squeak with a poached egg and tonight we are having turkey curry with rice and naan.

Ooh bubble & squeak with poached egg sounds so tasty. I'd have to put tomato ketchup on it though....lol.

Dodged the rain and went for a walk around the village.

    Mainly sewing and knitting today.

Breakfast was muffins, lunch cheese and crackers and tonight it’s a Morrocan mince from the Hairy Bikers and we’ll have that with some cauliflower cheese.

    NSD 5

Went out yesterday and met two girlfriends for dinner and drinks.  Its been a while since I’ve “hit the town” and it was fun.

Today an NSD.  Had a lie in and brunch was bacon and egg buttie.  Tonight we had cauliflower curry, rice and DH made some saag aloo.

Did a little bit of tidying/planting in the greenhouse during a very short dry spell.

Lots of housework done today – a bit of a spring clean.

    Weather very mixed.

Breakfast pancakes, lunch cheese and crackers and tea tonight was the same as last night as there was plenty left over.

Overcast today but no rain – so far.  Had a walk this morning to blow the cobwebs away.

Breakfast was pancakes, lunch cheese and crackers and tea tonight is bacon, eggs, potato rosti and beans.

I’ve set a challenge that we use up our cupboards and freezer this month, so I’m not aiming to do a big shop till February.  I’ve started a basic list which we’ll need to do perhaps end of this week or next as we need milk, butter, eggs and toilet rolls.  Hopefully I can get away with just buying those this month but we’ll see.

We are going for dinner to friends in a couple of weeks, so I dug the ice cream maker out and this morning I made pineapple sorbet.  We’ll test it later and if its OK then that’s what I’ll make for them.

My friend is coming round this afternoon for our sewing session.
