The key lime pie was really good.  We all liked it.  I will make it again, was very easy, but you do need to start it the day before.  Was the Hairy Bikers gin key lime pie, but I guess you could leave the gin out.

AC - I think you might have it right about Christmas :)

    NSD 7/18

DH and I had a Christmas lunch out today, was really nice and we enjoyed it.  We had no breakfast because of it and I think it might just be toast tonight - it was a 3 course lunch:  pate and bread, followed by turkey dinner and then yule log and ice cream.

Had Dr. appointment first thing to do my annual blood pressure and blood test.  So that's done for another year, hopefully results are OK.

Popped to shop and got some tomatoes and watercress.

Breakfast was porridge with banana, lunch cauliflower soup and bread.  Dinner tonight is steamed salmon and courgette parcels served with avocado, watercress, tomatoes and hollandaise sauce.

Thank goodness, DS is on his way home as we speak, so I feel that Christmas can officially start when he arrives!  I think we will be a bit naughty and have mince pies later tonight and maybe a glass or two of prosecco :)

    NSD today.

Had a bit of a lie in this morning as I just couldn't sleep and didn't drop off till around 3.

Brunch was oatcakes topped with avocado, salmon, poached egg and hollandaise.  We will have a late lunch around 4 of spatchcock chicken with couscous.  Probably have snacks later in the evening, perhaps ham roll or I might get some sausage rolls out of the freezer.

There is a load of washing whirring round in the machine and some dough is proving in the proofer - to make some rolls later this afternoon.

Started watching Superman and Lois on the Iplayer, I really enjoyed it, watched 3 episodes so far, I'm not really a Marvel fan, but this is a bit different and I like it.

No NSD today as we met some friends for coffee this morning.  We went to the local garden centre and sat in their outdoor area (as my friend is a bit jittery).  Was nice to catch up before Christmas.

This afternoon I made some biscuits from a kit - wild blueberry and lemon shortbread.  They were delicious.  I used my fancy rolling pin with Christmas trees on and used the tip from Masterchef to put them in the fridge before baking so they didn't lose the definition of the Christmas trees - it didn't work!!

Breakfast was a toasted teacake from the garden centre, we kind of skipped lunch or rather had two of the shortbread biscuits.  Tea tonight is festive pizza, made using mini wraps for the base and topped with chicken, sweetcorn, pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce and a scattering of cheese.

    Today an NSD.

This morning batch cooked a load of chilli to which I added lots of veg.  Its made about 11 portions.  We shall have some tonight with rice, another batch is in my pie dish with a cobbler topping and is in the freezer and the rest frozen into portions.

Breakfast was crumpets, lunch salmon salad and tea tonight the chill and rice.

DH is taking DS for his booster so we'll have a latish tea (for us anyway) around 7.  I think we will watch the second episode of the The Girl Before, we watched the first and enjoyed it enough to want to see what happens next.

The am dram performance was great - a real laugh and a free glass of mulled wine included in the ticket.  We live in a small village 12 miles from the nearest town, so to be able to go "out" without having to drive is a real bonus.

Am struggling with the NSDs - so that will be one of my new year resolutions.

Went to the shop and bought some salad bits which will now last us over the weekend.  No need to go out now until Monday when we have a festive afternoon tea booked and paid for at a garden centre.

Breakfast was porridge, lunch is pasta carbonara - pasta made this morning and tonight with be a buffet type supper with tuna mayo and cucumber open sandwiches, sausage rolls, cheese on crackers etc., a bit naughty weightwise but festive food for Christmas Eve, eve.  Will also have some mulled wine with it :)

Turkey crown out of the freezer and tomorrow the rest of the veg etc., will come out.  Will also need to work on my food timetable!
