A flurry of soup making this morning – pea soup and chilli pepper soup – ready for lunches this week.
Weather still dreadful, constant rain. I have never seen our garden so flooded.
The roman blind in the dining room was all wonky so we took that down and restrung it at the back – now looks as good as new.
An afternoon of sewing and TV is called for!
Brunch this morning as we had a lie in was oatcakes with ham and poached eggs and hollandaise. Dinner will be toad in the hole with veggies and some cauliflower cheese.

This morning the craft room has been cleaned and tidied. I made some Welsh cakes, never made them before but oh my goodness they are delicious. Took me all my willpower not to eat more than two in one go.
Breakfast was porridge, lunch pea soup and bread and dinner tonight will be gammon egg and what I call veg cakes, which is leftover veg minced up add a bit of flour and form into rounds. I then cook these in the oven. They are using leftover veg from the Christmas dinner, I made the veg cakes and then froze them. We have a few more left in the freezer.
DH serviced my sewing machine this morning and gave it a good clean.

Did my meal planning today for the next 2/3 weeks. DS bought me the new cookbook by the Hairy Bikers – Everyday Winners and I have taken a lot of inspiration from that.
My friend is coming round this afternoon for our sewing session, we haven’t had our stitch and B***h since before Christmas so it will be a nice catch up.
Breakfast was crumpets, lunch will be pea soup and bread and tonight its Turkey chipotle wraps. Using some leftover turkey from Christmas and a packet of chipotle seasoning I found at the back of the cupboard. Will have it with onion and peppers plus salad and some refried beans.
I'm pleased so far with my NSD total. It really does make a difference as I'm one of those who must have a coffee and cake when I go out and that is what is adding up to my overspending.

Good work on the BB - we changed ours a couple of months ago - just a small saving but down to £20 a month which was a decent percentage, and we switched to a faster speed.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Arghh well after we had to have some more work done on the motorhome and doing the balance transfer the CC is back up again to £8332.16. I've updated my signature and now the work begins to bring that down. The MOT and service has been done so fingers crossed that is it for this year.
So, now I can concentrate on getting organised for this year. I have worked out my budgets and my various savings pots. Hopefully when next year comes around I will have the money for the MOT & service and won't be in this position - that is the idea anyway. I feel positive and organised now.
Had coffee and toasted teacake out for breakfast. Late lunch/early dinner is roast chicken and all the trimmings.

Nooooo - £79 has just come out of our account for Prime. I can't believe I forgot it. Hopefully that is all the nasty surprises for this year.
I can't believe how disorganised I have been with my money - I feel really ashamed that I let it slip and its got away with me. However, its a new year and I feel that I have now got a handle on it - or certainly will have by this time next year because I think it will take 12 months to be properly organised.Debt free and Keeping on Track1 -
Ah MrsP, that’s so annoying! Yet you have made me think. I pay prime monthly and am paying about £16 more for the privilege! I will look at changing to yearly I think. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I'm flipping it the other way - we were planning to switch to annual, then it occurred to me that although it is more expensive, at the moment I can stop and start it as required - so if we're going through a patch of not using Prime Video so much for example...It might not save us as much over the year, but I'm liking the flexibility. We'll revisit in a few months to decide whether to change to annual I think.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
