Where I live I use prime a lot for free postage (lack of decent shops), so I can’t see a time I wouldn’t get my money’s worth. I see prime video as a free extra 😊. I presume if you stop mid year they would refund something, but I could be making that up!Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I also live in a fairly remote part of the country and I do use the free postage option a lot. I also use the video service too. DS also uses my account as well. For me it is good value, just annoyed I had forgotten about it! I didn't realise you could pay monthly.Debt free and Keeping on Track1

Interesting points about prime .
For me , it works with the various things I've purchased last year in particular.
I too pay monthly due to the fact I can stop anytime and rejoin as and when. I don't really bother with the tv stuff .Looking at this, reminds me to stop the audible book for a while as I have a few to download when I'm in the mood . Plus of course now that Amazon no longer accept visa I have to watch what I'm doing as it comes off my bank balance straight away .Life happens mrs p unfortunately, but you are focused and aware of your target ahead .

NSD 9/21
Today I’ve set myself a challenge to eat from the cupboards and freezer for the rest of the month and see how far into February I can go. Obviously I will still need to buy milk and perhaps some fresh veg, but other than that it’s the freezer and store cupboard. I have a horror of an empty freezer so it will be good if I can get an almost empty freezer.
Brunch was oatcakes, sausages and poached eggs, afternoon snack was home made barra brith (from my new Hairy Bikers cook book), dinner was tuna lasagne (from the freezer) with leftover red cabbage from our roast yesterday and green beans.

Had a good sleep but woke up not feeling too good. A bit headachey and my shoulders are aching. Just generally feel a bit meh. My eye is also watering, I had this a year ago and the optician said it was due to wearing masks and the eyes not breathing properly. She prescribed eye drops and it went away after a few days.
So I popped out for eye drops and also picked up some milk and salad.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch was malt loaf and butter (because I couldn't be bothered), dinner tonight is steak pie and chips - am really looking forward to that. Haven't had a pastry pie for weeks.
This afternoon just sitting and taking it easy and hoping I feel a bit more "with it" tomorrow.Debt free and Keeping on Track1 -

Weather nice and sunny today, but cold. It makes me feel better to see the sun. I woke feeling much better than I did yesterday, but I still didn’t get to sleep till gone 2am….
Got up at 10 and had brunch of oatcakes, scrambled eggs, hash brown and some ham plus some watercress. Lunch will be vegetarian shepherds pie from the Hairy Bikers, I have made 6 portions, so two today and 4 for the freezer. Supper later will be the last of the home made sausage rolls.
Meal planning all done for the week from store cupboard and freezer.
DS bought DH a bonsai kit for Christmas. We have soaked the seeds overnight so later will be planting them. Then it’s a matter of waiting 21 days to see if germination takes place!
We both liked the barra brith I made so two more loaves are now in the oven cooking.
Went for a walk along the cliff and country paths. We only live a 10 minute walk from the cliff path and about 2 mins to open country walks. When we moved here 20 odd years ago we said we wouldn’t take it for granted, but we have. One of our resolutions is to get out walking and cycling a bit more and actually enjoy where we live.

Mrs P I am beyond jealous of your proximity to the coast - I'm at my happiest near the sea - well any water really. (Unless it's dripping through the ceiling as regular readers of my diary will be aware!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Again we are blessed with sunshine and clear skies. Went for another walk and this time took a flask of coffee. Sat and overlooked the sea and drank the coffee. Was lovely and stopped me buying coffee! We really do need to focus more on where we live, we are so very lucky. That's something we are going to do this year. So a successful NSD.
After the walk I cut DH’s hair – well ran the clippers over it.
Breakfast was pikelets, lunch soup and bread and dinner tonight is ham, egg and chips.

Very overcast today. No sign of the sun at all so glad we made use of the last couple of days and went for a walk.
Last night my fancy Nespresso coffee machine decided to throw a wobbly, so DH phoned Nespresso, couldn’t believe it, but someone is coming to collect it today or tomorrow, take it for repair and bring it back again. We could also have had a loan machine while it was being repaired, but said no as I do have another smaller one I use in the motorhome. The machine will be 3 years old in April so is still under warranty! Was so easy and no quibble at all. This is how things should be all the time. Instead of the agro normally associated with stuff when it goes wrong. So, I can’t recommend Nespresso enough.
Breakfast was porridge with banana, lunch is ham and tomato rolls and tonight its scampi salad with some home made potato wedges season with Cajun spice mix.
Busy unpicking a jumper I knitted as I think its too short and I want it at least 4” longer.
This afternoon I’m visiting my friend for our stitch and b***h, or in my case today its knit and natter.
Perhaps I shouldn’t say this, but so far my NSDs are going well, in fact it has made me realise how much money I have been wasting on coffees, the odd one is OK, but to be paying out 4 or 5 times a week is madness. I think I might finally be getting there with moneysaving.

That's a very nice area you live in mrs p 😼
I was looking for compo , foggy and clegg . The weather you have seems to be identical to mine , although as I type this the sun is attempting to shine .If you want your jeans to start falling down , you have the perfect surroundings to do it .
( my diary 😸)
Great news regarding the coffee machine . I always leave positive and negative reviews regarding service etc .Interesting thing about coffee from my perspective ..
Being home alone and loving cappuccino , I did think of getting a coffee machine .However, I always have a black coffee first thing in the morning . It's a must for you to have one in your mobile home / home . For me, I was thinking it may be too much hassle for one person .It's also another gadget cluttering up the work top . Plus I can have a nice cappuccino when I meet up with friend. I have a French press which I rarely bother with .
Having said all that , I may give in and get one eventually 😸
