    NSD 3/18.

This morning finished tidying up from our visitors last night. Then had a walk around the block. Prepped savoury pancakes for tonight.  Made some carrot soup for Monday and Tuesday. This afternoon just watching TV.

Breakfast was toast and jam, lunch was a festive type affair with cheese on oatcakes, crisps, slaw, pate and ham.  Tonight its the savoury pancakes filled with leeks and cauliflower cheese.

    NSD 3/18

Had to go to the post office to return a parcel and stopped off at the cafe for a coffee.  Really annoyed with myself as I had planned an NSD.  Plus points I didn't have any food, just the drink, but minus I really wanted an NSD today.  Its really showing me how much frivolous spending £2 here and there really does mount up.

Breakfast was porridge, lunch will be the rest of the savoury pancakes and supper will be home made carrot soup with home made croutons.  DH is also going to roast some chestnuts for a snack.

We are having a day out tomorrow and visiting a couple of NT properties to view the decorations.  We are taking bacon butties with us which I will make this afternoon as its an early start 7am!  The joys of living at the A**e end of nowhere :)  Will also take flask of coffee.  Will stop half way and have our packed breakfast in the car.  We will have lunch at one of the NT properties.  When we get home we will have the rest of the carrot soup with croutons.  I'm looking forward to having a day out.

Don't be too hard on yourself over  a coffee mrs p ☕️
Enjoy your day out . If the NT is National Trust, be sure not to donate , as they have loads of cash and waste  it appallingly . Sorry for the mini rant 😼🤐

Yes it is National Trust and we are members, so I suppose we do donate in a way!

Not sure if it stops you visiting places if you're not a member . If so, then it's probabky best to carry on as you are . On the other hand , it may be worth looking at the cost of the membership etc.  Or possibly stop and rejoin if it saves  cash for sometimes.
    Just a thought ..

Yes if we are members it means we get into places without paying.  There are lots of NT car parks around where we live and that means we can park there for free.  For us, it is more cost effective to pay the membership.

We are members of NT and use it loads.  It saves on car parking for a start and we visit two or three a month on average so get good value out of it.  We do buy stuff in their cafes and sometimes shops which is pricey but don't really mind paying as it is a fairly cheap day out as things go. I love the walks and gardens around the grounds so will often do them several times over the year. The grandchildren love them too if just for the ice cream at our nearest one.

NSD 4/18.  Today will be an NSD.

Cleaned kitchen and hoovered throughout.  Moved some of my kitchen gadgets around and gave them a good clean in the process.  I like to try different layouts!

Breakfast was porridge, lunch is  soup with croutons and tea tonight is pasta carbonara - I have made the pasta and its on its drying rack.
