  • Hi everyone, another update.
My hearing will now take place by way of telephone.
I will be emailing the court to explain I use hearing aids and I am not as confident on the phone as I am face to face as I don't always capture 100% of what is being said on the phone.
Not sure if that will make a difference. Hearing by the end of February, already causing me so much stress......

You do realise that you can have somebody else with you on the telephone link ? A lay representative , an assistant ?

So somebody with good hearing and sight etc , a helper , to assist you and to assist the court

I would have that person with you on the day , plus tell the court beforehand

Or ask for a Teams or face to face hearing and remind them you are not happy to have a decision 'on the papers' so that's not a fair option.  You have the right to a reasonable adjustment.

  • Another update, just received an email from DCBLegal saying:

Our Client may be prepared to settle this matter outside of the Court to assist in achieving the Courts overriding objective. In the event that you wish to discuss settlement, please contact us on 0203 434 0433 as a matter of urgency.

    I havent replied.

I haven't received anything with a date for my witness statement yet. Last thing I had from the court was information about how to use the telephone meeting system.
