Morning all,
Wet and grey here too, which is probably just as well as I also have lots of admin and piffling type things to do. I need to list them, otherwise I might just settle down with my new book 😉. And the old one isn’t yet finished so I must resist temptation… Bedding changed and in the wm, clean washing shuffled.
I have accepted a new post at work. It is a million miles away from the old corporate world that I used to inhabit, so hopefully I won’t feel the need to drive myself into the ground for it like before. It is pretty much my job plus overseeing, but still to be drawn up and will mean more hours. We will see.
Well done, ASB, on your streamlining perseverance. You are doing fabulously and are an inspiration xx
Piggers, YL - I was the creep who never forgot her PE kit, but was still shouted at by the PE teachers and quaked in my hockey boots. Might have had something to do with my supreme lack of athleticism, mind…8 -
Morning all
wet and grey everywhere it seems!
dailies done, decorator here so entire ground floor in disarray and not easy to get to, oh well, it keeps me away from the fridge and the snacks I suppose and will help with mission slinkyish!
paid stuff is busy so a full on day again, many meetings this afternoon so will endeavour to get out for a bit of a walk at lunchtime if it’s dry enough.
hugs available where needed, sticks and spoons in the pot, help yourselves.

Lots done, the stove is lit now to take the chill off (according to my indoor thermostat it’s 14 degrees in here).
Winter coats gathered together to go in the wash for a freshen up, tomorrow is forecast to be very windy so they should dry nicely. Sold an item on FB that is being collected tomorrow, every little helps.

Had a shower and then cleaned the shower room properly this morning first thing, before I did the voluntary thing for a few hours. All sparkly and ready for guests due later this afternoon.Windy here and now raining, but I finally managed to persuade Belovéd that the windfall situation with the apples wasn't acceptable so the majority of them are now off the tree in apple trays that the lovely staff at Morribunds told me are only thrown away anyway, so of course I could have them yesterday. In a couple of days I'll divi them up for the neighbours. We must do the pear tree next but they're holding on for the moment so they can wait a day or two more.Piles of gibble that have been hanging around on the landing shoved up in the attic, and the last place I needed to check for the box of unsorted photographs checked, and they aren't there. I'm completely mystified as to where I put them. I know I had a big pile of them collected together from all over the place but I just can't find them. It's everyting from about 1996 onwards. Ancestors photos down for putting into a big posh family album, a job that needs a clear few days which I intend to have in October. Secondary glazing down from the attic and Belovéd has put some of it up because once the gales start, and we know they're due because the apples are ripe, they don't stop for at least a month and bring endless rain. At least I can stop watering the fruit trees. Leaf rake down from the attic too because that's going to be needed very soon when the huge sycamore starts shedding.I'm about tuckered out.Better is good enough.7

Windy, rainy and chilly here too.
Downstairs dusted and vacuumed. Bathrooms cleaned. Summer sandals put away and winter boots unearthed. Wardrobe tidied whilst I was there. A bit of admin done and started my tax return. I’m bored with that now as it’s too much like being at work. Some bits for dinner out of the freezer to make some wriggle room for fresh veg which is waiting for a home.
DD has been bargain hunting at Mr S. My baby really is adulting.
DH has gone to the dentist as apparently he has had toothache for “weeks”. Well, he has been remarkably and unusually quiet about it if it has been weeks. Hmmmm….8 -
Pigpen you made me laugh. The thing is she is actually OK when you get to know her and she puts a lot of effort in to planning rides and organising everyone. I guess you have to be a bit bossy when you are trying to get a dozen ladies riding their bikes together safely on busy roads.
Oh and after buying the new light the ride was cancelled, it is pouring down and blowing a gale!! I will need it another time.
I decided to change DSs bed and have found 3 unopened letters from the hospital tucked between his bed and bedside table. They have all come in the last month and hopefully they are just about appointments. I have sent him a jokey message telling him I have found them and saying I am going to open them. Its so hard because he is nearly 23.
Not much flying done other than the basics. DH has hoovered, his back is improving, hopefully he will be back to work next week. Veg curry next and then under the heated blanket with my book.
Well done on the new job Fayolle , hope it all works out better for you x9 -
I've been to the R@nge and bought some christmas bits.. I really need a proper 'present list' so I can budget for everything and make headway through the list.. I got Squeak a couple more folders for her work.
The 'new to me' printer arrived so I got the last 3 days of worksheets printed off so Squeak can be busy tomorrow. The geography 'new to us' book also arrived.. so there are some bits she can do in that tomorrow and I think that will be her busy all day with her planned classes.
