Morning all,
DH out visiting for the day, so I am blitzing the jobs.Skirting boards, door and window ledge given final coat in soon-to-be-study. HHI done, wm running as it is a sunny but very blowy day. Cooker extractor degreasing in bio powder, will be scrubbed, relined and screwed back up later. Quick coffee break, then I need to clean the downstairs toilet. I also need to do the regular fridge audit to make sure that nothing is wasted and that meals are sorted for the week.
Annoyingly, I need to relook at the furniture planning that I did yesterday, as it occurred to me in the WAC that our files are too tall to fit on the chosen shelves.8 -

Regatta have 20% off almost everything on their site and some massive savings already on winter coats etc.. code is Extra20. Might be good for dog walking and cycling flyladies!
Santa just got OH a much much needed coat for under £50 ..He looks like he is wearing a childs coat currently! He bought it 15+ years ago for a trip to Norway which he says 'wasn't even 10 years ago' .. I said Squeak is 11, what year did you go? .. 2006 .... that was NOT 10 years ago! He is over 3 stone heavier than he was 12 years ago so it looks ridiculous on him now.

Friends have departed for the ferry, so life can now return to normal. Lovely to see them, but exhausting. I don't know where people get their energy from, I really don't.Apples picked, apart from the lovely ones right at the top. The blackbirds can have them. Half the pears picked, and all fruit bagged up and delivered around the houses. I'll have another go at the rest of the pears when they're not wet from the rain. Strangely we were getting a lot of windfalls about three weeks ago but the tree has masses left and they're no longer falling. They're not ripe, either. I think it may have to do with the fact that there are three different varieties on it, the least interesting of which are the Conference pears, the only type supermarkets seem to stock these days. Whatever spares we have will go to the Foodbank, which apparently has a surfeit of cooking apples being donated, which most of our client group don't want, and very few eating apples or pears, which some would rather like.Showery and blowey weather which means I can't do any laundry which is seriously annoying, but the forecast is better for later in the week.I did a one day Learn to Love Your Overlocker course a few weeks ago having bought one when Lidl had an affordable one two years ago but using it terrified me, so I signed up for the course. By the end of the day I was supposed to have produced a skirt (not happening) or a pair of knickers/pants. It's taken me all this time to crack out the machine and finish them and I have to say they're a lot more expensive than MandS ones, there's quite a bit more fabric involved but they are comfortable. Making them involves so many techniques I think I'll make a few more pairs before I embark on anything else, but I am rather chuffed I've made something I can wear on the machine at long last. I'm quite good at buying things, doing courses and never getting round to finishing projects so I'm rather pleased I did this time. The long weekend guests thought they were rather wonderful - although I declined the request to model them.Taking the rest of the day off and will get back into being busy tomorrow at some point. See you all on the other side.Better is good enough.8

Hi all
Nice day out walking with DH, did 6.5 miles which just goes to show how much better his back is. Took a flask and some biscuits and sat on a log in the middle of nowhere drinking coffee and listening to the birds sing. Bliss.
Washing dried outside, pizza made for tea and shepherds pies done for tomorrow. Eggs boiled for sandwiches. Oven wiped over.
So pleased Dot enjoyed the ballet Pigpen. Oh and Regatta stuff is really good, you can sometimes pick new bits up cheap on Ebay too. However, I will stay away from the website because will find something that I "need".
Sleepy now. Will get myself organised for a long day at the paid stuff tomorrow, and won't be late to bed.9 -
