Don’t feel bad that you were taken in - people like that specialise in showing only the facets of themselves they want to show publicly, and they are good at it due to practise. You really couldn’t have known! DD’s friend however has no such excuse. 😠🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi, haven't updated for a while. I never said but me and DD accompanied DH on a work trip to Miami over the Easter period. We paid for our flights but could stay in DH's accommodation, were included in events and most meals FOC (though of course at 19 DD couldn't drink like she can over here hahaha). DD then flew onto LA by herself to meet up with a friend that had been at drama school with her for a few nights, which was a lovely experience for her. She still has no outcome for this Autumn so far, but is enjoying her job.
DS finishes his degree in less than 2 weeks time and will be job hunting. It's a bit up in the air what him and fiancee will do next or where they'll be. I am embarking on a big clear out/de-clutter just in case they end up with us (one of the options). No inroads had been made into further debt busting, however today I've been rang by an agency about a job and I've just emailed my CV over to them, so watch this space.2 -
What a fantastic chance for a great opportunity to travel - glad you were able to take it and both had a wonderful time!
Fingers crossed on the job!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

DD has a drama school offer! Only a year course so means another year of auditioning (but she'd have that anyway). This does come with student finance though.
She has another recall later this month (also for a 1 year offer, unfortunately they changed their initial offer for her to audition for degree to their 1 year course!)
She also has to consider if she wants to apply for a couple of other degree courses (1 is the right place, but the wrong degree, the other the correct degree just not the desired school - that is exactly the position she was in last year with her offers and why last minute she took an alternative option that came along)
She's booked her first girls hol too for next month, so I'm pleased things are on the up for her.2 -
Ah that really does sound like great news all round for D, I'm pleased to hear it AND that she's got other irons in the fire too. My personal gut feeling is that she might get something out of the right course in a different place, but probably not out of the wrong course, in the preferred location - ultimately is the location itself going to be enough to advance her future ambitions on its own, without the course to back it up?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'd rather she didn't do a course that isn't the one she wants just because she wants to attend X drama school.2 -

I was contacted out of the blue by an agency last week about a job, v good hourly rate, reasonable hours, location slightly out of my comfort zone but was prepared to do.
I had a Zoom interview on Friday. Late afternoon today I was told I didn't get it by 1 point. To say I'm gutted is an understatement.3 -
@Spendless when things like this happen, it often means an even better opportunity is just around the corner. Call me Mystic Meg if you like, but let's just see what happens. Sounds like you got detailed feedback which might be useful for the next one? Love Humdinger xx3
