They may be clearing these DDs from our PO accounts now.
I had a regular one taken from one of my bank accounts mid-month but am now not able to arrange a one-off deposit using the DDs set up on any of my PO accounts (different donor accounts but including the one used automatically earlier in the month). The bank accounts are still linked for withdrawals.1 -

The bank accounts are still linked for withdrawals. The problem is working out whether that was an intentional system change by the PO, or just another one of their many 'issues'.All my regular DD's have been taken this month, including one today. However (relevant to the BiB), I tried a one-off DD in February (to compensate for a regular one the PO had failed to collect) and that also failed... although the request was received by the linked account bank and treated by them as one of the two required DD payments that month.0 -

The last one-off was in March - and I didn't try to arrange one this month until this week, which is when I found all DDs were now removed.
I therefore do not expect the regular one to be taken in May.
It will be interesting to see whether others find a gradual removal of the facility.0 -
They have now stopped you paying in money via Debit card which is annoying lol0

Neither my monthly or weekly direct debits were taken this morning. Perhaps they've finally switched them off?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

My DDs were not paid last Friday or today. Went into the online account and emptied my accounts except for pennies. Then closed each account today. Bye-bye post office savings1

I've only just noticed that PO have still been taking DD payments. One of my PO savings accounts was glitchy (PO system), with a DD credited to my PO account but the transaction reversed as an "unpaid DD" a few days later. Always got an error message when trying to cancel the DD, so left it - not a big deal for a £1 DD. I recently switched the linked account, after the PO announcement regarding the cessation of DDs, and the DD is not mandated (not listed as direct debit in my new current account).Towards the end of last month, there was a transaction for an "unpaid direct debit" without an associated "credited DD". However, it was not for the sum of £1, it was for the whole balance in that savings account! The next day, this amount was credited back to my account and it was listed as an "unpaid DD error". On the 29th of last month, the same thing happened again but this time the money was not returned,I've tried clicking on the contact us and help links, but I get errors there too. Has anyone else encountered this issue?TIA0
