The loss of the direct debit functionality was communicated in advance, but was the loss of making deposits by debit card?

If I'm honest this is the bit I was using to keep a Halifax Reward account going
Alternatives are discussed fairly regularly in other threads on the subject if you search the forums. A number of building societies allow you to add funds to savings accounts held with them by debit card. NS&I does as well for savings + premium bonds.

Open a National Savings Direct Saver account. You can deposit funds by using your Halifax Reward debit card online. In fact, if you have more than one Halifax Reward account, you can use two (or more) Halifax Reward debit cards to lodge funds in the same Direct Saver account.
The only drawback is that it takes 7 days for the funds to be cleared to enable you to withdraw the funds from the Direct Saver.
  • I live in a village, all the banks and building societies over the years have closed, the post office has moved from its main building to the back of the local newsagents.  So there will be nowhere to go to pay my bills!

Pay them by Direct Debit, or with debit card. You don't even have to leave the house to do that.

Is it true that Halifax reward still need DD (2?) paid out from Halifax account ??
I remembered this DD requirement was removed in 2020 when they introduce reward extra. But can not test it as I still have DDs active in all of my Halifax ACs.

No, and that's not what the post you responded to is about.

Still active. All my monthly ones were taken at the beginning of the month too
