I've spent 34.48 since Friday, which brings me up to £202.19 - £2.19 over budget. I'm probably going to need a pint of milk at the weekend, but nothing else before November now.

I've come about £5 over budget. It's on target, but still way over the amount I want it at.
I did get some bulk buys. One from a whole foods place, and the other from The Vegan Kind; but I am trying to just add each item to the budget as It gets used. Although some of it is being put away for Christmas day, just so I have a few nice treats to eat.
I probably won't have these kind of spends next month, but then it depends on if I'm buying anything for December. I would drop it by a tenner, but I think I will wait til the NY when I can focus on a more stagnant budget. Too many changes this year  :|

  • @joedenise This is where I get confused on what is bulk v grocery, I dont suppose it matters as long as one is consistent ..

@goldfinches I also have not been sleeping well the last few weeks esp as I have been ill, I definitely need to get into a better pattern. Hope you come in under budget ;)

@Finstickle Maybe as already suggested you could split the alcohol into a separate pot?

@elsiepac well done on the focus  and coming in on./under budget

@Doom_and_Gloom that soup sounds fabulous, I normally wait til I have stock or bones in to make the stock but maybe Veg soup is worth a try for me as a cheap and healthy snack to freeze as well.

    Oct 24th   £156.65 of £160 + 6.65 of £10 bulk   = £163.30

    Oct  Groceries Challenge

    £8.65 spent yesterday
I am still ill and not sleeping well, going to bed too late and getting up late so my will power is low - made worse by not going to the gym regularly which I enjoy - it  helps me sleep, gets rid of stress and makes me feel good.
Therefore after a bad nights sleep and a long not v productive day,  on the way back last night at 10.50pm I went to my local still open Sainsburys and bought some groceries inc some sweets and tortilla chips, GF bread  plus some DF milks.

I am still within budget but sleep has to be a new focus,

For Nov I am aiming for a £160 grocery budget which inc £10 of bulk spend - so stuff I will not consume in the next week at least. ..

NSD 15/13 - best ever  since I started tracking 2.5 months ago.
I did not spend today but will tomorrow as travelling to see family and also Sunday - probably  Sat may be a final NSD but we will see.
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Finishing up the month at £183/£280 but that’s because I wasn’t charged for the veg box (will be debited on Monday) so a truer reflection is £259/£280 which I’m very happy with considering the online deliveries we had due to COVID. Been a tricky final week of the month with no spends at all but now we have been paid I will need to replenish the stocks as everything is running low in the freezer etc.
  • £3.23 spent since last post in Mr S and this is the final spend of the month as I will not be going out to the supermarket while the OH is away for the weekend.

    £238.34/£240.
    £1.66 left.

    Yay, we came in budget.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
