I've spent 34.48 since Friday, which brings me up to £202.19 - £2.19 over budget. I'm probably going to need a pint of milk at the weekend, but nothing else before November now.

Declutter 7 things (net) in 2025. Done, now trying to keep it even (5 over at present).4 -
I've come about £5 over budget. It's on target, but still way over the amount I want it at.
I did get some bulk buys. One from a whole foods place, and the other from The Vegan Kind; but I am trying to just add each item to the budget as It gets used. Although some of it is being put away for Christmas day, just so I have a few nice treats to eat.
I probably won't have these kind of spends next month, but then it depends on if I'm buying anything for December. I would drop it by a tenner, but I think I will wait til the NY when I can focus on a more stagnant budget. Another spend today and now standing at £114.42/£250 left so a good month, although the bulk fund has taken a battering this month as we've stocked up on things like loo rolls and kitchen rolls as well as a lot of meat for the freezer. We're away for the weekend so may use the grocery fund to pay for our lunch when we're out on Saturday as there is still plenty left in it - I usually move it to the bulk fund but even after paying for a meal out there should still be some to go in there too.

£4.12 spent since last post in Mr S.
OH wanted spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
Usually he'd make his own meatballs but as he needed to buy mince to do so and he just wanted to eat he decided to just buy already made.
So the above cost was for a pack of 20 meatballs, 250g double Gloucester and a red pepper.
I'm having roasted vegetable and lentil soup for dinner. Roasted the vegetables the other day while the oven was on anyway cooking pizza. Butternut squash (halved, de-seeded, and cooked flat down), onions, carrot, garlic (whole just cut in half to roast) all roasted with olive oil, chilli flakes, onion powder, smoked garlic granules, pink Himalayan salt and pepper. Just blended all of it with some celery and water, put in the pressure cooker with some red lentils and out came a beautiful soup that was simple to make. 3 large portions of hearty soup (around 600ml each). I will decant the extra portions into large passata jars I saved for such use to store in the fridge.
£235.11/£240.
£4.89 left.
Hoping we make it in budget still this month. Should do as OH will be going to see his family this weekend and I won't go to the shops as I will have food already made up (to eat as is or heat up in microwave) for when he isn't here. Fingers crossed.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -

Waves to all rather exhaustedly after a particularly trying few days on the health front.
I am just posting this and then intend to slink off to bed to try to get more sleep than last night which should not be difficult as I am sure I spent more time tossing and turning than actually snoozing. I have spent the day having to keep a guard on my tongue too as lack of zzzs makes me very snappy.
Anyway, yesterday I spent £4 at B**ts on eye cream which for some reason has suddenly become scarcer than the proverbial hen's teeth.
That makes my new total £104.05/£124 and my average daily spend £3.85.
I need milk and yoghurt tomorrow and some more ground cumin and a few other bits and bobs and then that should be it for this month so I have hopes of coming in under budget for once in my life, famous last words eh?5 -
Hi all, sorry I've been a bit absent this month! However I have had a pretty frugal month again which I'm super pleased about - total still to follow as I wanted to catch up on the thread first but I'm confident I've come in near or under budget. Been running some of my stocks down nicely - I still have a lot of dry goods in - definitely don't need to buy any grains and rice any time soon! Just pasta and noodles. I've written a new list of things to keep a spare of and it's about 1/4 of the size of my old one!! @joedenise This is where I get confused on what is bulk v grocery, I dont suppose it matters as long as one is consistent ..
@goldfinches I also have not been sleeping well the last few weeks esp as I have been ill, I definitely need to get into a better pattern. Hope you come in under budget
@Finstickle Maybe as already suggested you could split the alcohol into a separate pot?
@elsiepac well done on the focus and coming in on./under budget
@Doom_and_Gloom that soup sounds fabulous, I normally wait til I have stock or bones in to make the stock but maybe Veg soup is worth a try for me as a cheap and healthy snack to freeze as well.
Oct 24th £156.65 of £160 + 6.65 of £10 bulk = £163.30
Oct Groceries Challenge
£8.65 spent yesterday
I am still ill and not sleeping well, going to bed too late and getting up late so my will power is low - made worse by not going to the gym regularly which I enjoy - it helps me sleep, gets rid of stress and makes me feel good.
Therefore after a bad nights sleep and a long not v productive day, on the way back last night at 10.50pm I went to my local still open Sainsburys and bought some groceries inc some sweets and tortilla chips, GF bread plus some DF milks.
I am still within budget but sleep has to be a new focus,
For Nov I am aiming for a £160 grocery budget which inc £10 of bulk spend - so stuff I will not consume in the next week at least. ..
NSD 15/13 - best ever since I started tracking 2.5 months ago.
I did not spend today but will tomorrow as travelling to see family and also Sunday - probably Sat may be a final NSD but we will see.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Finishing up the month at £183/£280 but that’s because I wasn’t charged for the veg box (will be debited on Monday) so a truer reflection is £259/£280 which I’m very happy with considering the online deliveries we had due to COVID. Been a tricky final week of the month with no spends at all but now we have been paid I will need to replenish the stocks as everything is running low in the freezer etc.2

£3.23 spent since last post in Mr S and this is the final spend of the month as I will not be going out to the supermarket while the OH is away for the weekend.
£238.34/£240.
£1.66 left.
Yay, we came in budget.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy1
