badmemory said:For those who like them you can easily change any of the bought tomato type sauces into chilli simply by adding some spoonfuls of chopped chilli (see home bargains). But for home made chilli I just use chopped tom, red kidney beans any veg left over & I do mean any courgette, cauli, aubergine, mushrooms hopefully then onions & peppers obviously, the end of any freezer bags & a small pack of meat - mince usually but I did use some steak a friend had defrosted too much of last time. Thats what I love about Italian, Spanish, Indian, Mexican type meals, they are very accepting! All thanks to a father who spent the war years moving round Asia & Europe trying not to get killed. Most of my friends had never even heard of curry let alone tasted it.2

Went to MIL's - both DC fell asleep in car on way back so had to do 2 trips up and down the stairs to get them both in. DC2 is sleeping. DC1, I tried to put down whilst I had a cuppa and a kitkat chunky and tried to catch up on final season of This is Us (am 2 episodes behind) but DC1 had other ideas and came bowling through into lounge so he is now watching Gruffalo's child and I am on here.
I was going to WFH until we move because lots of members of team been to London marketing this week but I do feel better in the office than here so not sure. Tomorrow we have to transfer remaining balance (other than what we are borrowing) to lawyers so are going to bank to do that. Might have to start a new diary once we're in, settled and the internet is connected!
I think my new goals will be around: 1) Trying to save as much as possible towards the works we want done/paying down the mortgage/building a savings buffer; 2) really start running again and getting healthy and 3) (linked to 1) more sustainable living through growing fruit/veg and using eggs from our chickens (once we get them) to try to somehow balance out this cost of living increase.
I asked DH if I could start training for a marathon (I ran london in 2016 for charity - v slow but did it) and would really like to do it again as it was such a great experience and is also such a good way to get fit and healthy (and get back in my clothes), but he didn't seem keen with all we have to do to the house and the DC. So I think if I start with couch to 10k or something and really get back into it he will be more convinced its a good idea!

I said those meals were very forgiving, so broad beans instead or whatever you have.

I'm excited for the house move for you and I don't even know you! Is the garden safe enough to let the kids out to run riot? I think that would be my first priority.4

There is nothiing quite like watching young kids scoot round a garden also it means less heads & less furniture gets broken.

Awww thanks all. We went into branch at lunch to transfer the balance. So hopefully that's it now until Tuesday though I'm still chasing landlady's SIL re reminding him to remind gardeners not to come as movers will then struggle getting things out and sorting final meter reading access. Groan.
Had pay review today and was pleased with a 6% rise and a small bonus. After tax etc the bonus works out just over 1400 so given I was off on unpaid leave for most of the financial year, it's not bad at all. I can up my salary by going full time but not ready just yet - possibly this September (but would mean the DC both in nursery an extra day and am just not sure its really worth it) but if not, definitely next September when DC1 starts school. So just DH to go now but god only knows when that will be.
Spent £2.25 on a birthday card for SIL today and £17 on the bank transfer fee for the funds. Other than that, no spending.
I do have a sore throat.....arghhhhhh.
And had a dream last night that the vendors pulled out and that I was on the phone to the agent - woke up with my hand in position as if was taking a phonecall!3
