These 2 weeks are not to torture you. They are for lovely anticipation and preparation so you can move in and enjoy.
It sounds like husband has gone off the UK/different life in favour of more career progress now that the house there has worked out and you're both far more on the same page which is great.
I was thinking of you when I did my last online shop - I ordered 4 x 4pt, 2 x 2pt and 1 x 1pt milk for home and various other needs. That would be a 2nd mortgage and an impossible carry load for you guys.
That is a lovely way of looking at these 2 weeks, thank you.
I think he'd like to one day (or france) but yes, I think he has now seen the benefits of living here and I'm actually surprised he wants to progress as he's always said he didn't.
Ha ha, yes we are the milk menaces! I don't think I need to buy any today, but I'd better check.2 -
As you seem to like stories about cat litter trays on here I have one for you
hubby makes a rabbit feeder with tray as his range of items….today we went and bought about 50 cat litter trays which was every one in our town we could find…..non of which have holes in the bottom btw 😂😂3 -
So, spent £6 on coffees yesterday with friend - was nice to see her even if it was a very quick one! Then DH asked me to get beers on way home and pudding - so I would normally pick up a 4 pack from the garage but decided not to, saw a 4 pack split into 2 so bought those and a £1 bar of chocolate - so £3.90 total. We had pizza and mozarella sticks from stores for tea and started watching After Life - OMG how have I not seen this before - SO funny (and obvs tragic).
Work had bought up bacon rolls yesterday morning so didn't bother taking in a sandwich so a saving there.
Been and done the "big shop" this morning - DH had gone through the cupboards and the freezer and we really didn't need much so thankfully it only came to £35.84, which is MUCH better than normal. Still got to get milk(!), fruit, bread and ham from M&S but I rocked up there and it wasn't open! So we will hit that later. Our rubbish car needs petrol as light is on so we are going to take that one out today and fill it up. Going to SIL this arvo as it's nephew's birthday - we have bought him 2 books and there will be cake. So the kids will be mental this evening!
Also need to pop to town to get cards for nephew and SIL I didn't get the other day and handwash/soap.
Atmosphere at work is getting worse due to person causing the issues taking the mickey re hours and taking lots of holiday without actually taking holiday. It's getting people's backs up. I need to stay out of it and just do my job but it's hard.1 -
I rarely comment on your diary but always read it .I am so pleased for you that you are moving . I live in an upstairs flat and know that I am forever reminding my grandchildren to be quiet and that’s only for 1 day a week for a couple of hours . It must have been so stressful , but at least you can get on with life now .You live in such a beautiful place albeit expensive . I look forward to hearing your new adventures in your new home .Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget the milk . 😂Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2

Thank you! @Sunshine_girl2 - very kind of you!
So, finally got to M&S - bought 4 x crusty rolls to have with soup, 4 x milk(!), easy peelers, bananas, raspberries, apples, bread, ham and it was £17.27. So weekly shop of £53.11 which is pretty good for us.
Spent £1.99 on a card for nephew but that was out of cash DH had in his wallet from ages ago. Then he filled rubbish car with petrol which was eye watering.
Took DC to park and I went for a walk with DC2. Bumped into DH's best mate (who is married to DH's cousin, such is the way here!) and his daughter (so who is sort of a second cousin of the DC) at the park so that was nice - DH sees him once a week but I've not seen him in ages.
Went to SIL's for nephew's birthday, much hilarity and lots of cake. Then home when DC2 had meltdown as overtired. Had a G&T and now cracked open the wine whilst DH makes an amazing smelling ragu from stores (bar we needed extra parmesan and a couple of carrots) and we feed the DC. Hoping no-one had covid at the party!!!!
Tomorrow I may have to make gingerbread men with DC1 as weather is due to be rubbish and we will probably go to MIL.3 -
