I wonder how long the SoLR will drag it out for us on a standard tariff before they condescend to let us go? That is, after all, how they make their money on these deals. I'm guessing 2 months. A nice little earner.

We've been with Peoples Energy for over 3 years. We moved house a couple of months ago and have only just about completed the process of switching back to PE from the supplier we inherited with the house, SSE. We had been on a fixed tariff with PE to avoid the price hikes for a while and when we switched back to them we got back onto the fixed tariff we had been on at our old address. Then on Monday I had a letter from SSE and it transpired that the electric had switched to PE but the gas hadn't so we were half with PE and half with SSE! I couldn't get through to anyone at PE on Monday so emailed and never had a reply, now I know why. No idea what to do now! Will we lose access to a fixed tariff because of having to wait for Offgem to switch us to a new supplier, which won't happen until after the price rise? This is going to be a big problem for us - we had counted on being locked in at a lower rate until at least next March.

I joined People's Energy because I loved their idea of a Company not looking for huge profits. I even contributed to get them started. Saddened that they couldn't make it work. Lesson learned0

I switch to peoples energy at the start of the year after my last supplier went bust.

would have been nice if they actually sent an email to say this, rather than reading it on reddit....What should PE customers do now, sit and wait or move?0

Well, given that the bad news about energy prices keeps coming ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58579829 ), I decided to try and switch immediately - it may well fail but I figured it was at least worth a go...
Sainsbury have about the best tariff around and it's fixed for 2 years with no exit penalties, plus some bonus Nectar points.
