UP website is closed now. So you can no longer check your statements and amounts in credit.
Hopefully everyone has downloaded or taken screenshots of their balances.
Just hoping for the refund now 🤞🤞🤞

I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

Haven't had any updates from EDF or any refund. I have since moved to BG Evolve. Called up EDF and they said they are working on it. Has anybody who has switched away from EDF received the refund from EDF?
    Thanks

Same position here. Switched from UP to BGE but impossible to get any sense at all out of EDF.  Three weeks ago they were going to contact the UP Administrators to find out what was happening about the several hundred pounds credit I'm owed and get back to me.  So far - nothing.

There's no apparent way to sort this shambles out, but EDF is one company that will never again supply energy to this household.  Not that that will remotely bother them, but if enough hacked off EDF customers feed back on that, eventually the message gets through that EDF is the TalkTalk/Ryanair/Currys of the energy supplier world.

also left EDF/UP for BG Evolve - no cheque refund so far either - 6 months & counting now

doubt raising a complaint with EDF will make any difference when no-one appears to have received a cheque yet - it looks like they just havent been  bothered to start the refund process yet for non EDF customers

eventually i assume there will be another update at
    https://www.edfenergy.com/content/welcoming-utility-point-customers

I wonder what would happen if you took the claim to the small claims court ? - anybody know ?

Almost certainly you’d lose, for lack of any contractual term on which to base a case.

Ofgem won’t be interested, and although I opened a case with the Energy Ombudsman, EDF managed to persuade them to close it down on the basis that they’ve never had the supply. A downright lie by EDF, because they had it for a fortnight. Twisters, liars and crooks.

Isn't there a timescale on being reimbursed? It can't go on forever.

No timescale - because Ofgem didn't set one. And nobody to enforce the payments until eventually enough MPs start to notice, and decide to push somebody for action.

Finally got a cheque through the post today from EDF. The amount of the cheque was the exact same amount of credit showing on my UP account, so I suspect EDF haven't charged me (yet) for the few weeks I was on supply with them before switching out to BG Evolve.
Hopefully the cheques will soon land on door mats for the others still waiting too.

    Sounds promising

Surprised you didn't get a final bill from UP with the EDF charges added as I think many of us inlcuding me have received a UP final bill including the EDF charges up to the point of transfer to the likes of BG Evolve etc ...

If they have sent you a cheque I very much doubt they will be adding the EDF charges later so you've had some free energy
