An interesting curve ball update. My account now says that as i never submitted the requested readings in time EDF will use estimated readings to open my accounts. This is odd considering i have screen shots of my EDf account showing the readings successfully submitted and indeed, on the readings page, the requested readings are still there for all to see.I expect this will go down hill quickly now from the euphoria of last week that the switch was nearly complete.Anyone else have this warning in the account (webpage not the app)? No emails were received about this, its just a warning on the switch progress page.0

No emails were received about this, its just a warning on the switch progress page.Hello, I have the same message for Gas - They emailed asking for an Electricity reading, which i submitted, so appear to have one there, but haven't ever asked for a Gas reading - and now they're showing that message.Something i've encountered, regarding payment methods which other switchees may also experience, is being put on the higher unit rate and daily charge rate for Cash/cheque customer, which is substantially more expensive than being a Direct Debit Customer.I cancelled my Direct Debit with Utility Point prior to EDF being assigned. subsequently EDF have said they haven't been able to "transfer" the Direct Debit. Both in writing and within the online account they are showing me on a cash/cheque payment tariff, without the ability to change to direct debit currently. - Web chat are pretty useless, they cant set up a direct debit, but have told me that once the account is fully transferred, DD can be set up with a menu option on the left entitled "Payment Method Change". I'll just have to ensure they dont apply th eexcess charges from 18th september. The 1st October prices, for different payment methods, are also regional on on their website here: https://www.edfenergy.com/sites/default/files/r505_deemed_rate_card.pdffor me in the south west region the cash/cheque charges are higher by at least £80 per annum in total, broken down they are higher than direct debit by the following amounts ...elec unit charge + 5.4%, elec daily charge +18.1%gas unit charge + 5.3%, gas daily charge + 17.8%The last time my energy company went bust - One Select, and i was forcibly changed to Together Energy, it's wasn't much any smoother, but even then the forced transfer was complete within about 5-6 weeks.1

I imagine it's logical that they show you on a cash/cheque basis as they will presumably know when the first attempt to collect the DD that failed was? I imagine that you'll be charged on that basis from that point until such time as you set up a new DD now. I debated about cancelling ours but decided against due to EDF's repeated assertions that it should be left as was - and indeed it's continued to be taken as usual - in fact the latest one went today, still to UP. I'm happy to be saved the hassle of then having to set up a new one and paying more in the interim, and potentially having to make extra payments to cover the "gap" with no payments going out as well.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Before EDF are permitted to take a DD payment, the DD rules state that they have to inform in advance, the date and amount to be taken. They haven't suggested they've wanted to, or tried to, or asked for a DD to be setup. Any money you're still paying to Utility Point by DD, will be going into utility point's accounts, currently controlled by their Administrators, it'll be quite some time before any remaining balance is transferred over and credited to your EDF account.Whilst i know EDF have a very low moral and ethical standpoint, It remains completely unethical for EDF to charge customers extra due to their incompetence in setting up accounts incorrectly. I've obviously already put that in writing to them, to ensure thay correct their mistakes before they start billing incorectly.

They've set up my DD correclty I think - received emails with individual amounts for gas and elec and the total is the same as the "6 months at a higher amount" value that Utility Point were taking.
I'm around £300 in credit currently, minus whatever I've used since the collapse (~£120 I guess as haven't put the heating on yet).
Hoping it'll all shake out once our balances are added and they deduct the 2+months of usage since the collapse. Being on this higher amount all the time is probably about right for me, as this compensates for the huge increase in unit rates.0 -

As for how quickly, we’ll see, won’t we. As I said, my approach works. That’s why I use it, and it never fails to get results, frequently at the first mention of a costly referral.0 -
My DD payment was last taken by UP in Nov. No payment has gone through in Dec. My switch from EDF to BG was completed in Oct. Does this mean that no further DD will be taken from my UP account and we are closer to the refund? 🤞🤞I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0
